First AMV with a brand new anime - Getsumen Toheiki Mina

For my first ever AMV i picked a lesser-known series that recently finished airing in Japan - Getsumen Toheiki Mina. Its basically an action/comedy show with some pretty visuals and i tried to follow that feeling in my video, while emphasizing on the action. I used the song "The Wicker Man" by Iron Maiden.

The synchronization in the last part of the video isnt as good as i wanted it to be, and i could probably add some more effects, but i think that for a first try this came out quite ok.

For a first AMV I liked watching this. I'm gonna have to find this anime now, to see more fighting bunnygirls, lol. Good job for your first try.

Well at least you might land yourself nicely among the male population of this site

I myself (female) found the anime seems rather "meh".

Anyhow; my major complaint about this vid was that I didn't really feel any connection to it. There wasn't really any story going on (from my POV), no relation to lyrics etc.

Your biggest positive accomplishment was the synching. The first scene with the robo rabbit or whatever it was; VERY nicely synched. Then through the amv it started to deteriorate.

And no subs!
And I don't think I caught any DivX logo either

Good try for a first!

lol, hazaa for gender placement.(yea.. ima male, and I ... apologize for that?) anyway I didnt have a lot of time to review but the most interesting thing here.was... I had no clue what was goin on. Props for the new anime.

You assume much about the sexuality of org members. It would be wise not to discount the gay and lesbian editors on the site.

As for the video itself, I am always encouraging of videos using lesser known series, either recently aired, or old school. So you originality is high, Totalizator.

thats assuming that a girl has to be a lesbian to appreciate fanservice (that is fanservice thats directed generally towards straight males)... O.o

Not at all. While I said not to discount homosexual editors in specific, I did say in general that an assumption was made as to the sexuality of org members. Even straight, gay, bi, and lesbian doesn't cover all of the aspects of human sexuality. Especially when you're dealing with an idealized art form that is independent of actual physicality.

But I don't want to hijack Totalizator's announcement thread to discuss org sexuality. That's what ye olde donator's forum is for.

Iron Maiden... Hmm... I'll give it a look (if I have to watch a video of... unknown quality, it must at least have a decent/good band).

Jiggling boobies and Iron Maiden make an odd combination.

Negative things to say:
-Very little lyrical synch.
-Too much lip flap.
-No real concept.
-Overall action synch is a little loose.
-Very obviously off aspect ratio.

Positive:
-Iron Maiden.
-A few places have nice action synch.

Something like a 2.5/5 or 2/5. Work on your concept a bit, try to cut down on lip flap, and work on encoding.

But... I only said "might". *Might*. Meaning; I have no real clue, but I am going to go with generalisation yet not claim that to be the truth. How is that assuming "much"?
And why would anyone care what I assume anyway? O_o I was just making a passing note.
I can find jiggly boobies entertaining too, but not these ones. Slightly they were, but not really. Something's lacking. *shrugs* All in all; anime still seems "meh" to me.

On another note;
I do much agree with the points concerning the video that Tono_Fry brought up that the editor needs to improve on. But I think there is potential at least, because you don't really see synching in every newbie's first AMV
