With DV-AVI the only limitation are the free space on your hard drive and the the maximum filesize that your OS can handle. But I wouldn't export to DV-AVI only for the sake of having one large file, because you'll have quality loss because it uses lossy compression. What's the problem with having 2 GB chunks? You can put them together in VirtualDub(Mod) with "File-> Append Segment".
And regarding your question: even in the latest version Magix will split any AVI (even uncompressed, that is often misunderstood since the DV-filmers often call DV-AVI uncompressed) beside DV-AVI in 2 GB parts.

I know there are a lot of problems with Magix, but just curious what problem you've encountered?
just off the top of my head, the second most annoying thing occurs whenever I try to rotate an object (but I'm using MEP10, so I don't know if that got fixed. :\

After so many cuts or so many clips that you place on the timeline, the export codecs start disappearing from the export menu. That's right, they just disappear and you can't export.
The workaround is to save that timeline, delete a bunch of clips from that timeline, and save it as a different project altogether. Then re-open the main timeline, and delete the clips that you hadn't from the previous timeline, then save that as another project.
The smaller timelines with less clips/cuts, once you restart magix, should be able to export once again.
This has happened to me several times due to the enormous amounts of effects and clips that I tend to use on larger scale videos. In these cases, I easily get up to 20-30 segmented timelines.

I've encountered this problem ever since Euphoria, which was made on Magix Music Maker Deluxe 7. I have since encountered it on other versions I've upgraded to over the years, including the one I currently use, Magix Movie Edit Pro 11. I think it's safe to assume that it happens on all versions of Magix thus far.808-buma wrote:has this been somthing that you've noticed in only one version of Magix, or several of the MEP releases? and are you using the US or UK edition?
