Wolnt Create clips
I wouldnt be asking but iv spent HOURS (7) trying to fix this. I converted the vob to avi split the movie into 3 half hour clips and put it into WMM but it wolnt create clips. Even when i right click and tell it to make clips it pretends to do something for 10 minuites but comes up with nothing. I re-encoded it with a diffrent codec because I read what you guys said about DIVX, nothing. I re-encoded it as a mpeg nothing. I split the 30 min clips into 10 min clips nothing. I can use the splitter to make them as small as I need them but the only problem with that is id have to have about 100 'collections' and that would make it really really difficult. I drop diffrent clips into WMM and they work fine its just the specific clips I need that wolnt work. Im new to this program so maby some one might know what im doing wrong? Or is there a way to put a bunch of diffrent (small) AVI files into the same 'collection'?
Even if you have no idea how to help, thank you for reading this long rant of a post.

Well, if I understand you correctly, that's what those of us whose programs DON'T split clips for us have to do. If worse comes to worse, you'll live :/Burningleaves09 wrote:I can use the splitter to make them as small as I need them but the only problem with that is id have to have about 100 'collections' and that would make it really really difficult.

Re: Wolnt Create clips
1. Vegas has a "media pool" so i dont have to worry about different "collections" so i can understand the pain that must be... O.o but its not THAT bad (i cant say for other programs)
and 2. could you answer this to humor me please?

Don't use mpg. It's the same as divx and xvid and wmv and most other compressed codecs. Wmm won't make clips depending on the video.Burningleaves09 wrote:I re-encoded it as a mpeg nothing.
Convert it to huffyuv. Wmm will autosplit any huffyuv file into lots of tiny pieces for you. Be aware that huffyuv is uncompressed - the file/s will be large in size.
