Considering Mars is Roman I would hazard a guess that he's too busy off banging Mercury the messenger to both coming around the org. On the bright side, I've heard that Mercury is a real one minute man, the guys speed is truly astounding, so Mars should be available shortly.

For a while when I started editing I would just go off the lyrics, and the mood of the song, to sync my video to that. Around 2005 I started to focus more on beat syncing and realizing that I need to have more editing in my clips. Really there is not one thing you can go off of. However I feel that there is always a place to start. For me that is with the lyrics and feel of the song. Then I just add more editing and useful effects on to that. However the thing I've been getting is that when I do use effects I don't use them enough. If it is in one spot of the song and that part occurs again I need to sync that part but not necessarily with the same effect.

Think of amv's as baking a cake. Cakes have layers, and amv's have layers. You got base and then you add your frostings / designs to it.

In that case, my style is 'surprise'. I don't do shit for months, then suddenly do something fairly complete in a few hours/days. And people are like 'wtf'. For better or worse

I tend to follow the rhythm of the song above all else, after that it's the lyrics and beat about equally. I feel that the rhytm is the best machine to get the emotion you want out of the video.

As for other things, I'm more for old fashioned editing so I don't use effects or anything outside of standard transitions and editing. Fancy stuff isn't for me.

The only oddity is that mysteriousoly the title for the show manages to appear in almost every video I make and I don't do it intentionally.
