What's your style of AMV Making?

I find a "groove" and go with it. Usually in the oddest, most wrong way possible. I usually go with the lyrics first, then beat/random other stuff in the song. Like I said, I find a groove and go with it. (Like that mysterious beat that isn't actually in the song, or if it is, its a sub beat. But that's the beat you find yourself dancing to. O.o)

When I make AMV's, I prefer to go for internal story that matches the lyrics. however, I'm trying very hard at the moment for several projects to match the beat of the song, intergrating special effects.

I don't really know what my style is, I do a bit of everything I suppose

I usually just edit what I imagine when listening to the song I'm going to edit to.. if I can imagine fast cuts, fast cuts it is! If I can imagine longwinded fades and overlays, in they go! I like to match what I can imagine with what I'd like to see more than anything. So I'd guess most of it's powered by the music itself.

That said I generally try to tell a story as I edit, I guess that's the only real 'staple' thing in my videos..

basically mine is focused on the synch more than anything else, so yeah I tend to do very unnecesary things to synch beats XD, I also try to follow lyrics

Though my AMVs lack concept some times

The way I see it, the purpose of AMV's is entertainment... whether visual or conceptual . If the viewer is entertained, all is good in the universe...

yeah I know that

, but some people want to watch some kind of theme or concept in action AMVs (though I know its not neccesary

). But yeah if I can do both then all is well, if not then I hope the viewer have fun with just action

My current style is creating a story using instrumental music and maintain a decent action/edit sync at the same time.

But I do want to try to use lyrical music sooner or later.

...My only fear on that is that don't want to make the lyric sync too obivious.

It really depends on the video when it comes to what I look to sync the most. I've synced to the beat, instruments, vocal changes, and lyrics. It really depends on what kind of video I want to make. However, I tend to stick to lyrical sync the most since I enjoy the old school editing techniques and prefer to use them. I have used the actual music video for a song before while fishing for ideas, however so far none of the video ideas I've done that for I have completed...
