Newly available Ranma 1/2 AMV from 1994 (go figure)
Hello, all.
I was at a party with some geek friends from work, and they were talking about AMVs, and since I am also a geek, they thought I knew what it meant. But I didn't. So I asked them, and they told me it meant "Anime Music Videos"... and I thought, wow, I was making those back in 1991 or thereabouts, but I just called them edit projects, and we didn't distribute them to anyone. Looks like I missed a boat back in the day.
Well, the geeks at work were asking me to please let them see my AMV that I know I still have. So when I found it on VHS (to my surprise), I quickly digitized it and uploaded it to YouTube. Then I found this site, and figured the H.264 version ought to be here.
I have to admit that I was showing off when I made this video for a 100-level broadcast production class. I also think I did a decent job with irony in this video, juxtaposing nostalgic, pining images with Gloria's slow-moving "I won't miss you at all" lyrics.
Anyway, enjoy, and please be nice. Maybe if I find out there's a way to get decent source materials, I will re-master this one.

have it download. i'll watch it later.
i just got it because i'm impressed to see somebody from back in the day, who right off the bat knows to make mp4+h.264.
you're guaranteed at least 2 stars, even if it sucks. just for that

KioAtWork: I'm so bored. I don't have class again for another half hour.
Minion: masturbate into someones desk and giggle about it for the remaining 28 minutes

Well, I'm actually re-doing it at a lower bitrate to save some bandwidth. I did it at about 2000 kbit/sec, which would have been good for an SD version. But since I digitized it from a VHS master, I chose 320x240, which means I should have gone for a much lower bitrate.just got it because i'm impressed to see somebody from back in the day, who right off the bat knows to make mp4+h.264.
Also, I wanted to use h.264 for something - at work we use lesser codecs (for now).

Well, I guess that means I have another project for this summer.bombush wrote:This one was really great. Although it's from 1994, it would stand a chance even against today's high quality projects. I would definitely like to see it remastered.
Part of the assignment was writing an EDL, and while it may not be all that useful for telling me what I used specifically, it would at least tell me the duration of each edit... But I did not keep the EDL.
