- Please limit your new threads (not replies) to one per week. If you have several new videos to announce, create one thread for all the videos. (Note: if you forget one you can edit your post!)
- Offsite links are allowed, but you are required to have a catalog entry for that video as well. Threads announcing videos that do not contain a catalog entry will be moved to the Awaiting Catalog Entry sub-forum and will be deleted in 2 weeks if an entry is not created.
- When posting announcements, it is recommended that you include links to the catalog entries (using the video ID) in your post.
- Videos that do not contain anime are allowed to be announced in the Other Videos section and are not required to have catalog entries.

TLO Presents: This Could Be... [Mahou Sensei Negima] [AB07]
So, I'm sitting here in the AB Main Events hall before the Masquerade begins, and I'm about 99% sure that I'm not winning anything so I don't have to announce this as an "award-winning AMV", so I might as well do it now
Obligatory poster image:
Enjoy!
(note: I'm not totally happy with this encode, but AVISynth was giving me trouble so I uploaded an unfiltered and thus somewhat noisy version to my webspace. The Local version, when uploaded, will look much nicer.)

Perhaps it's just the sources, but while the optical effect is nice in theory, the presentation here doesn't achieve the desired response. The entire video would have probably benefitted more from a M@D style, as I don't think the editing style and most of the effects don't carry much with someone who hasn't seen the show. IMHO anyway.

Well, at least I'm glad it's finally out
I'm honestly happy with the way it ended up, particularly as far as doing a good job with making the editing make the somewhat sparse and static footage look good. (I don't have any problems with the editing approach, unlike the poster above )
Otherwise I think it's stating the obvious that making this into a real romance video was certainly a bit of a push, and sometimes it does get just a little disjoint.
Was definitely worth the effort and benefitted from the time you spent on it!
oh, and you forgot to add me to acknowledgements on the video page

The Birds are using humanity in order to throw something terrifying at this green pig. And then what happens to us all later, that’s simply not important to them…

It's funny because, as I noted in the vid comments, I'd originally planned on a M@D-style vid. There were two things that prevented me from doing so - one was a limited timeframe, the other was the fact that my tools weren't MAD-friendly, as Motion (the program I used for the intro, the end, and the manga sequence) is only 2D, and I felt like 3D space was needed in order to do a full M@D. However, now that Motion is getting 3D in the FCS2.0 release, I might do more M@D-type stuff in the future

Wow, this was pretty cool. That effect at the beginning was ingenious, and very well integrated...I also REALLY liked the text, it didn't seem out-of-place or cheesy, like text tends to be in AMVs.
I didn't like the half-opacity zoom-ins, though, they weren't entirely consistent, and the white flashes at 2:39ish didn't sync up perfectly either.
Other than that, excellent video, I really like it!
