You're right. This is kind of a weird video, but I'm not sure that it's weird in a good way. Point by point would probably be the most organized way to go through this...
1. Video quality was watchable most of the time, but it got really bad in some parts. Audio quality wasn't very good either. Either you used poor sources (ie: fansubs), or you didn't clean up and encode very well. We have some helpful guides on the site for that, and an even better one in the works, so feel free to take a look at them.
2. I didn't really understand the concept. It seemed to make a little more sense near the end of the video, but overall it was hard to follow the main idea, if there was one. Seemed like a lot of literal lyrical sync with little regard to the video as a whole.
3. Beat sync was quite good, really. I especially liked the driving force going into the ending.
4. Effects seemed largely pointless, but they weren't all that bad. The only one I wasn't fond of at all was the zoomed out scenes at the beginnings of verses. It felt displaced from the rest of the video.
Overall, this had some nice editing, but it's not a cohesive video. It just doesn't feel right. I wish I could describe it better. It's worth the watch, though, if only to see Fruits Basket presented from a slightly different perspective.
Hope that helped somewhat.

I'm interesting in seeing what this video is about, I'll check it out and probably OP it.
Edit: I also had no idea what that was about....and I did think there was an overload on effects. Eh, I didnt really like it because of the lack of coherant theme. I would give it a 2/5. Not really my thing, even though I did enjoy Fruits Basket.

I feel absolutely awful now you guys lol! I feel like I've melted your brains or something with trying to figure this video out! Anyway at the end of this reply I added a few of the things that were going through my mind when making it, maybe hearing what I was thinking will help a bit. Sorry about that. It isn't a proper story video or concept video its just a typical music and footage video. It's full of my thoughts on the rivalry between the two but it's not meant to be puzzled out or uncovered, it's just there if you really wanna pinpoint it or think similarly enough to me to pick it out (which would be kinda worrying on account of being a bit loopy and all). It's mainly just meant to be sat back and watched. I know thats terrible for a furuba video >.<, its not exactly an action series so it's supposed to have a story or concept, or have a more bubbly song, but meh *shrugs*.
Oh! I absolutely love this song so much! I just wanted to just let loose and have shameless fun, I knew what I wanted in my head and just went crazy with it, so there's effects and zooms and weird things here and there and it's just a bit mad oops lol
I feel so lucky to get some feedback! Thanx a lot for all the advice and crit! I'll keep it in mind if I'm ever insane enough to make another AMV. I think I better leave it to others >.< but it was fun if a little nightmarish to try all the same. Anyway just some notes on what I was thinking and see ya for now:
As others have commented, its not a video with a solid story or concept, I mainly matched images to beat and words and presented the whole thing in a strange and disjointed way. I wanted to put across the different aspects of rivalry between the two so Yuki angry and Kyo looking like he's the cause of it, Kyo scowling and refusing to talk in front of Yuki at the very start was used to show friction between the characters.
The first bit was sorta the jealousy between the two, shown with the first instrumental where Yuki is watching Kyo play cards with friends and Kyo is watching Tohru and Yuki smile at one another. I had the image of the mouse making it to the banquet first with Kyo overlayered on top to point out the key source of jealousy, the mouse tricked the cat and got to the banquet first and now Kyo will fight until the bitter end because of the consequences of it. The end where Kyo grabs Yuki would be the escalation of the jealousy as well as to show the disharmony between the two. Yuki knocking Kyo onto the floor, Kyo punching the wall by Yuki, the two racing was also to show disharmony and competition between the two.
I kept Tohru (because like a lot of fans I love her to death) but also mainlyto show the link between them, they're very different, but despite the rivalry she's in the middle linking them together.
I had the bit with Kyo shouting about not harming Yuki in he's sleep and then I had Tohru, Yuki and Kyo coming together in episode 26 with Kyo seeing/remembering a flash of Tohru shouting and accpeting him when he looks at her, even though its a moment between Kyo and Tohru, Yuki looks at Kyo thoughtfully as if he's beginning to understand him more. And both bits are connected with scenes of the two thinking wistfully. So it's supposed to show that their relationship isn't entirely full of hatred.
Despite this there is still a lot of rivalry there and the rest of the video i.e the ending is centred around the rivalry and violence.
