You really need to synch it more. I mean, there were, in my opinion, too many chances of synching left ignored. It gets boring if you let clips go on for too long. Like in the first clip. I could actually see that "crap. This vid is gonna have little to no beat synch -.-". And only reason you ever really changed clips/scenes were because she went on to a new sentence in the song O.o Not good. Dont feel limited by that!
Your lyrical synching clearly got the main focus, and its good that you try to follow the story it has. But the cuts were sort of bad between the clips and there were a handful of orphan frames as well. Many parts were sort of awkward though, in the sense that the scenes you showed didn't really fit into it all because they felt forced (the lyrics were a bit strange for this anime).
Also something I had a problem with in one of your previous vids; you focus TOO much on having a DIRECT lyrical synch.
And is the sound really that low?
Having seen Ratio say "eww" was pretty funny though ^^: Pretty darn funny.

Okay, thank you for your critique. I was trying to cut down on the direct synching for this video, but it's hard to know what ELSE to do. I'm also not sure when I should be switching scenes if not at the end of a line. And about the scene cuts, I really don't know how to make them better. I try my best to get rid of random clips, but with the program I use that's sometimes impossible. (WMM). I have Magix, too, but that thing is so difficult to use that it makes the process torture and the whole thing not even worth doing.
So yeah, thanks for your opinion. It was helpful.

Get a different song? I mean, sometimes, it's just not meant to be. And sometimes it can be but its out of the editor's ability to make it.SunMoonAndSpoon wrote:I was trying to cut down on the direct synching for this video, but it's hard to know what ELSE to do.
Well, you could still go around with the same scene, but switch angles of it as the beats come and go through her singing? I mean, for example; lets say there is a lyric that says something about sitting in a room, and you have a shot of L in his comfy chair.SunMoonAndSpoon wrote:I'm also not sure when I should be switching scenes if not at the end of a line.
Then when a beat comes, you can switch to the overview of the room (where he is still in his chair)
Or something at least related? I dunno really. Your job to figure out and all
Eh? O.oSunMoonAndSpoon wrote:I try my best to get rid of random clips, but with the program I use that's sometimes impossible. (WMM). .
I'm not sure what you're saying. About random scenes, are you talking about clips that are just poorly choosen? Because you choose them and not WMM (unless it is capable of brainwashing! :O)... so I am a bit confused here ^^;

About the last thing, I meant...I think the term you were using was 'orphan clips'. I've never heard that before and I wasn't quite sure what it meant but just...brief bursts of a scene that's obviously not meant to be there but wasn't cut off for whatever reason. About the direct synching thing, I meant in general, not just with the song. It's hard to know what sort of images to put if you're not trying to match the lyrics. I only just got into making these things recently, so it's kind of hard to figure out what's expected. ^^; Thank you for your your help!

I liked that, in the movie...he died ANYWAY, but it was an interesting twist, and I saw it just after I saw Episode 25 for the fourth time, so I had kind of had enough of L dying! Anyway glad to hear you liked it.Fuze wrote:L, why did you have to go? L lives forever! But yeah, good vid. I thought it was cute.
L faked his death in the Death Note movie. o_O Maybe he does it in the anime too. I doubt it, though.

Ah, you mean the orphan frames!SunMoonAndSpoon wrote:About the last thing, I meant...I think the term you were using was 'orphan clips'. Yeah Movie Maker can be a biatch with those. Can be hard to get it right. I suggest that when you edit, you export the movie (ya know so you can see it in your movie player?) and see if there are any orphans frames continously. Because when you have edited too long in the story, and are at the "finish line" and just discover an orhpan frame or two at the begining, that can screw some things up in terms of synching.
But its important you fix the problem, because they are annoying
Well that comes with time I guessSunMoonAndSpoon wrote: About the direct synching thing, I meant in general, not just with the song. But a great tip is too look at a bunch of vids and then think to yourself, "what was so good/bad about this AMV? What areas did the do good in and what did the fail in?" and especially since you have trouble with the lyrics, go and see how others handle this area (though not in action vids They usually dont care much about lyrics there)
:/ Hate to break it to ya, but they actually attended L's funeral in the anime and manga. Chances are nil... (but I would love for it to be wrong and all)Fuze wrote: L faked his death in the Death Note movie. o_O Maybe he does it in the anime too. I doubt it, though.

Mmm...there is a third one, actually, but it's all about L.hydrax wrote:L didn't die in the movie for one reason. They didn't want to make a third movie and include Mello and Near. So they had L...
Spoiler :
And Dark Confusion, that's probably a good idea. I used to watch them all the time, but now I don't so much anymore. I should do so more often. I do do the exporting thing--with this one I made three different versions, and the one you saw was the one with the least orphan frames, but there were some I absolutely could not get rid of. Seriously, some of them were from the beginning of the episode when the clip was from the end. I have no idea how they got there. I understand if it's an extra bit attached to the clip, but this wasn't. I really don't know what was happening.
