Karaoke for AMVs.
How often are they seen?
And would they be an extra plus to the AMV? or are they actually distracting and make you think that it wasn't there because it's harder to pay attention?
I was jw, because I wanted to make my boring AMVs have karaoke but I'm not sure if it's distracting, a great addition to the video, or just a waste of effort.

Re: Karaoke for AMVs.
I have not yet witnessed an event where someone is singing karaoke along an AMV with a mic in his hand.

They aren't too common, but it really depends on what you want your amvs to do.
I remember at Anime Detour (at Phade's amv sing-along) that one of doki's vids had a "translation" on the bottom for people who couldn't understand growl (or something like that).
for fun, sing-along type amvs it could work, but for pretty much anything else, the karaoke would just be a big dsitraction...you wouldn't hear the end of it in ops/reviews.

I did a karaoke piece for the WTF MEP and plan on doing a Karaoke MEP once I clear up some HD space and time. Though my vid was a character "singing" with the karaoke lyrics at the bottom. *^_^*

I've only known of one editor who made Karaoke versions seriously.
Ming-Ling
Unfortunately almost all her vids were indirect links to her website and they are doooown.
Ming-Ling - 2001 - Not Alone (karaoke).avi
Ming-Ling - 2001 - Vector (karaoke).avi
Ming-Ling - 2002 - Roses Scatter in Beauty (karaoke).avi
Ming-Ling - 2003 - Maya the Cat (karaoke).avi
They were all very well done and she also had non-karaoke versions. One of the songs is particularly cool because in the left channel the singer is singing the song in Japanese and in the right channel in English, but you can't make it out unless you look for it it's so well done.

Ohh, okay. So it actually improves the window if it was good? Because I use WMM and so I don't have anything special on my AMVs compared to Vegas/Adobe users, you know? So I was just wondering if doing karaoke lines on it would make the video a little less boring and more appealing. I've been praciting karaoke with fansub groups and this idea didnt occur to me until like.. NOW -.-
