Zarx - thanks for all the help you've given so far even if it hasn't solved the problem. Assuming the video /is/ the problem, or at least that frame specifically, do you have any advice as to how I might go about fixing it?

Maybe try exporting the video as a PNG image sequence instead of an avi. Then load that into virtualdubmod and save it as an avi... maybe that might help?

Actually, perhaps its a problem in avisynth. Try uninstalling it, then manually make sure that the folder and all plugins are deleted, then try installing again.

this may be unrelated, but are you using an AMD processor?

just, sometimes that error shows up because a computer might handle memory a little differently than microsoft expects. This can be fixed by rightclicking My Computer>>Properties>>Advanced>>Performance>>Settings>>DEP>> and make an exception to DEP for whatever programs are giving you trouble. It's a long shot, but *shrugs*... anything that can help...

If it is just one problem section, try exporting small areas before and after where it seems to occur, then move closer and closer until you determine the exact problem---if your lucky, you may only need to scrap a single frame.

What version of Windows is this for? I'm using WinXP Pro (SP1) and have never seen any "DEP" options in that window.

Well, I DO have an AMD processor and I have XP SP2, went to check and blammo there it is. Unfortunately I haven't had time to test this yet, as I worked all last night and I'll be working again today. But when I get home, I'll certainly try and report back. So far my troubleshooting list is:

1. DEP adjustments.
2. Uninstall + delete + reinstall AviSynth
3. Save as image seq + resave as avi
4. Burn to CD and try on someone else's computer

... Long night. x_X

Sorry, <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Data_Execu ... tion">Data Execution Prevention</a>

I'm using XP Home 2002, SP2; it wasn't implemented until SP2, so I guess it doesn't apply to you, but maybe Kira. If a program gives me trouble, I add it to the exception list [needless to say, just about every program I use is on there... ]. Like I said, it's a long shot, but might help :)

The Wrap Up

Post by Kira_Douji » Tue May 01, 2007 10:31 am

Well, I uninstalled and reinstalled Premiere and the AMVapp twice to no avail. I changed the frame where it kept failing, and it worked.... until about the 2:45 mark where it proceeded to fail again. I fixed that frame, exported the section to see if it worked. It did, so I exported the whole thing again, and it failed way back in the beginning at a different frame. ><!

So at that point I decided to just make an XviD encode as well I could and fight with the computer later. So I did one pass without a file size restriction and another with. Then, because Zarx mentioned that encoding my file might fix whatever error the frames were producing, I took the first pass of the XviD encode and re-encoded with x264. Now the same .NET error popped up when I started the process, but I just hit "continue" and BAM, I had a high quality encode at 30MB less than the second pass XviD. So "great" I think, I'll just encode in huffy or lags and then encode that and it'll be perfect.

Alas, no go.

I think my current x264 encode is rather nice, though, so I uploaded it to the ORG. Just wanted to say thank you to everyone who tried to help me out! I'm fairly sure Zarx is right about it being a video problem, but since there's no way to get it out of Premiere without it being messed up somewhere, I'll just have to make do.

If you're curious as to what I was working on at all....

I'll post up something in the announcements forum later today when I have the avi as well. Thanks again for all your help!
