Dragonforce, while completely unoriginal in their releases, should never be discredited of their musicianship because of that or their fanbase. They are GOOD at what they do.

I'd be harder on you, but you like elvenking :P

Yeah but many of their songs they can't play live at all...so I think that they are forcing too much...

The things that I said in my last post aren't the reason I don't like them...I just can't stand their music :x...and that's all. :)

Have you ever seen Dragonforce live Wabius? I've seen them live in 3 different countries. If you smoked too much weed the one chance you got to see them some where and they weren't up to par and/or you weren't sober enough to appreciate what was going on, let me tell you what's up. They're fucking phenominal live.

Not to meantion all their music is like 8 minute long rock operas, you expect them to play every song they've ever written? What are they not playing that you think they can't?

Anywho, the reason I entered this thread is because I know how everyone here loves to get in a good flame war and tell the world what is and isn't music or a type of music. I love this band, can't stop listening to them, and will be doing some work with them this month. So I wanted to see what everyone thought of them.

They're called All That Remains, this is their space myspace.com/allthatremains

Check them out, if you have taste they'll change your life.

All That Remains are a fine band in their own right, haven't had the chance to see them live yet.. unfortunately, I've tried their songs on guitar hero and lets just say, it looks harder than i thought :P but thats a game.. so i grabbed some bass tabs, theres a shit load of finger work on the bass which is just starting to come around with bands these days, bass is not just ment to be meshed out by the drum kickers, its another guitar damn it!

Needed to add to this list, The Paradigm Shift, for the past 6 months I've started to get into Ambient Rock or Melodic Rock if you will...
Mainly aussie bands such as Tailbone, aforementioned tps, Jessey Leeche's newish project Seemless and well it goes from there but for the moment these three really stand out on my play list.
What can I say, growling doesn't do it for me anymore, and I'm a picky bitch when it comes to my death metal these days, if its just shit and growling/screaming then take that shit elsewhere... seriously, vocals are 50% of music the other 50% the instruments, they had better be original as well, something that can keep my attention for more than 5 seconds (and theres a shit load that can't) is a good start.

I've never seen Dragonforce live, so I can't comment on their performances. I do hear from people that they don't pull off everything perfectly, but they do everything really well, and it's a fun show. I really don't understand why a band like this blew into the scene when there are 100 better choices in the genere, however.

If you don't like their music, you don't seem to be in a place to judge their live shows either. I can't STAND Zero Hour. I think the music/vocals are fucking horrendous, and I saw them at Prog Power. However, not being a Progressive Metal fan at ALL, I would never comment on their popularity or live performances.

As far as I'm concerned, Dragonforce is a very plain power metal band with slightly above average musicians. Nothing more, nothing less.
