Premiere supproting Xvids and not any more

I use to have adobe premiere 6.0, 6.5, and 7.0 and they all supported my naruto episodes and other animes but after having my computer reformatted to certain issues and reinstall codecs and the programs the adobe premiere programs do not pick up xvid files anymore. It only lets me edit certain things live mpegs. Does anyone know how I can fix this problem?
