Tmpg Profile Question...

In the guide, after you export your avi and make an avi synth
file(improve quality etc), when it refers to compressing your avi to
an mpeg-1. It mentions two profiles, one AMV24fps and another
AMV30fps. It says if your AMV has been Inverse Telecine (before or
after editing), select the AMV24fps. If you didnt do IVTC but
deinterlaced at end choose AMV30fps. When I was going through the
analyze your DVD footage step, I noticed my DVD was a Hybrid Footage
with it being mostly pure interlaced. So I did the decomb plugin of

Telecide(order=1)
Decimate(mode=1, threshold=1.0)

It says this would still leave me with 29.97 fps. I was curious
which profile should I choose AMV24fps or AMV30fps, its still 29.97
fps but I also deinterlaced the footage before editing.

Since you deinterlaced but didn't IVTC, you should select the AMV30fps profile for your 29.97 fps (aka. 30 fps) video.
