If you have after effects use vector paint to get rid of the subs.

man, i feel like the wierd one now as i started posting and asking for help while trying to figure out how to make my own first amvJaddziaDax wrote:i sure as hell wasnt... i wouldnt dare post on the forums till atleast a year after i started editing O.o
honestly, i made a few noob mistakes when i first came here as all i had was wmm and didnt know jack ****, JaddziaDax can tell you that, so i got called a noob a couple times and had "look at the guides!" thrown in my face a few times but then i also had one or two helpful people actually give me some useful links and some instructions, in JaddziaDax's case i got what looked like a full blown handbook to amv making, (thanks for that btw i still use that message for advice occasionally)
so in the end i made some noob mistakes and got called out for it but i got the information i needed quickly rather than searching for it everywhere (i was completely bewildered by AbsoluteDestiny & ErMaC's Technical Guides to All Things Audio and Video mk2) so i consider it worthwhile. i knew i was going to love this community as soon as i found it so why not jump right into the conversations from the start, not like i'm going to meet everyone on the org's boards one day and have them all say "hey, look, it's the noob who didnt read the guides before posting!"
...somehow i think i may have jinxed myself with that last line

lol i was too "scared" to post in the forums when i first started... i figured i would wait till i had some grounding in editing before i started in on the forums (something about not wanting to be a total n00b or something in my head) then i lurked for a good couple months... then i would only post in "General AMV" for almost a year... and sometime during last year i started branching out into the other areas...
i still dont go into the "anime" sections or the "music" sections... but i dont have much to say in there anyways O.o

I don't see how having edited AMVs before joining is connected to knowing well enough to read the guides, FAQs, stickies, etc. and lurk a little before becoming active so as to avoid the embarrassment of making n00bish mistakes.Rapture** wrote:It's not like you were here since the moment you started AMV editing.Scintilla wrote:Just because we were all newbies once doesn't mean we were all noobs once. There are plenty of us here who never made fools of ourselves when we were new, because we knew better.Rapture** wrote:Most likely he will get to guides. Stop talkin' so high and mighty as if you weren't a noob once.
And if you want to talk about me personally, I did pretty much join the site as soon as I finished my first AMV. I didn't post in the fora for another month after that. I read the how-to guides, the stickies, and the forum rules, as well as doing some lurking to get a feel for the community, and therefore I avoided embarrassing myself on the fora. Happy now?

Seeing as how I was amongst the first to even make AMVs, back in the days of VCR-to-VCR editing and no computer-based stuff at all I'll speak as highly and mightily as I please!Rapture** wrote: It's just your own opinion. I don't think that will happen. Most likely he will get to guides. Stop talkin' so high and mighty as if you weren't a noob once.
The biggest problem I have with AMV kiddies these days is that most--most--just barge right in and make clueless, demanding requests for assistance and source material without a second thought. Or even a first thought. They don't read the rules, they don't check where they're posting, and more often than not they have no business editing anything for the viewing public.
