Why are people allowed to vote for their own videos?
I downloaded a MEP which included decapitated mouse parts accompanied to music (my cat enjoyed it) and when I took a second look at its rating, it was a 9.49! It was very obviously not that good a video, and when I saw who rated it, it was mostly the *creators* of the video, who gave it all tens!
This is obviously biased voting, and an abuse of the ratings sytem. Any video created by multiple less-than-scrupulous creators will have a high rating, simply by satisfying the minimum number of votes requirement.
Or is there a good reason why someone should vote on their own video?

Not everyone abuses the system that way. And if you see videos like that, then you can take their ratings with a grain of salt and ignore them.ced1106 wrote:I downloaded a MEP which included decapitated mouse parts accompanied to music (my cat enjoyed it) and when I took a second look at its rating, it was a 9.49! IIRC, this mep had problems with ops from the get go (people somehow oping it before it was even done and spam ops). Personally, I don't care much for the ratings. I just download something if it seems to peak my intrest. If it was about scores, I would have to say it's BS at Euphoria is number one because I think the video sucks. It's all a matter of opinion. That's why the VCAs are so messed up...ced1106 wrote:I downloaded a MEP which included decapitated mouse parts accompanied to music (my cat enjoyed it) and when I took a second look at its rating, it was a 9.49! People have different opinions.

I actually was one of those creators who gave that vid an all ten. Why? Because I can.

And actually, most of the opinions on there were all ones at one point in time, but they turned out to be from the same guy using different screen names to flame the coordinator. So they were deleted.
I'm not sure why people have such a hard time when people like to rate other videos. If you don't like it, it doesn't really affect you >> it's an opinion on someone's else's mep, and having a high score will not affect you in any way or form.
Even on the list for the most downloaded vids with the least opinions, it says that you should give yourself an opinion on the video to get it on the list if there are no opinions on it already. O.O
Plus, there are people who like to rate their own videos some times after they've created it, and they are hardly even all tens.
Plus, there are other parts of the mep, not just the one scene of the killing of the rats. :/
If you care that much, leave an opinion on it yourself.
