dfttest also uses FFT's but IIRC it is only a spacial filter, hence why it is so strong as it cannot adapt to temporal strengths.

At least as of version 1.3, the parameters tbsize, tmode, tosize, twin, and tbeta control DFTTest's temporal operation.

In which variety of dfttest though? As I mentioned above, there are two separate variations of it that use the same name, with mostly the same parameters but VERY different defaults. Using params from one in the other is somewhat hazardous, unless you like accidentally using a sigma of 60 when you need 2.

Re guides, I actually set up a wiki that I intended to populate with only the info people actually need, but details if they want. I just never had the time to write in it. Need help etc, and there are very few people who actually know enough to do so, at least in this community.

This is the one that's got the sigma values defaulted to 2.

The thing with dfttest and changing sigma's (in I believe the order that it happened, 2 and 3 might have happened at the same time):
1.) sigma used to be squared and didn't scale
2.) sigma stopped being squared
3.) sigma scales with input now as well

So the default now is 16 with the latest version, also tbsize now defaults to 5 (2 before, current, 2 ahead) so temporal filtering is now done with the defaults.
