In for example Windows XP you can open My Computer, then go to Tools-Folder Options-View. Uncheck "Hide extensions for known file types" and click OK. Now take a look at the filename again.

The same problems is in it is still saying "cannot determine file type of 'c:\Documents and Settings\Jay\Desktop\BERSERK1.avs.txt'"? If that is true then you must not have changed it to .avs from .avs.txt.

It means the plugin you are using is not made for avisynth 2.5
Download a version for 2.5.

That error would lead me to believe that you are using and old version of the MPEG2DEC3 plugin, one designed for avisynth 2.0x

You can get an updated version for use with avisynth 2.5 here.

If you place that plugin in the folder designated for autoloading plugins, (you did create one when you installed avisynth 2.5, didn't you?) you won't even need that line in the script.

THERE ARE SPACES BETWEEN "DOCUMENTS", "AND" and "SETTINGS".

I have a question since you seemed to recognize the problem immediately. ^_^

I use version 2.0, and the older version of the plugin - but I do have the newer version in my plugin folder. I had avisynth 2.5 at one time and switched to version 2.0 (can't remember why, just that 2.5 didn't like me). Would it be best to use 2.5? I know it's newer, but is it better? I only use avisynth for inverse telecine, so I haven't really thought of switching back to 2.5. Am I missing something by using the older version?
