On a side note, I think a bunch of people here make AMVs on "crappy" computers.

I'm kinda curious if we have a winner for crappiest AMV computer. (That has made a good/decent video, I mean.)
Another pointless post!

So you went to Sakuracon too? The one in Seatac Washington? I was there on saturday, when were you there? Also, I would say start by downloading music videos and watching them alot until you can tell how everything fits together and everything. Then when you get a program, pick a song and staqrt adding clips and match it all up together with the music so that is is smooth. Also, if you want direct help from me, my e-mail is Goku0o0o@comcast.net and my AIM sn is Darthv911. Piece

What I used to Anime Music Video's With:
Microsoft Windows 98 (great for leaking resources)
IE 5 (because 6.0 wont fit)
GenuineIntel Pentium(r) II Processor (not enough cash to upgrade)
30 gig maxtor hardrive (because it was free)
96MB SD RAM (the motherboard wont hold more)
12X4X12 DVD-RW given to me for X-mas
High grade 15" CRT monitor (with dust included)
(with all and all, its still better than an emachine)

What I use now:
Windows XP
IE 6.0
Newer AMD chip (1.6 ghz)
70 Gig / 30 gig Drives
128 RAM
12X4X12 DVD-RW
High grade 15" CRT monitor

emachines do have better machines than what otaku had at a cheap price
but it depends on how good eMACHINES were back compared to when otaku bought that computer

currently eMACHINES sells this decent computer at a very low price

eMACHINES model T2642
- Intel Celeron 2.60 ghz
- 40 GB hard drive
- 256 MB RAM
- CDRW
- Intel Extreme 3D graphic
Price: $399.99
Lurid Enchantment - ICYCLOUD
urban suite - TRYTHIL
大切な思い - BAKADESHI

You have a good point AMVfreak. :) I bought my wife an EMachine system at Best Buy, for her buisness. As a game machine they suck mud :x , but this 2d video work doesn't strain even a weak video card. EMachine isn't the fastest but has a good reliability record and with some added ram could be a good video editor for the low budget people. Retailers like Best Buy and Tiger Direct often have great sale prices on them.

Or you could be like me and buy pieces on sale from wherever you find them, and come up with Frankensteine's computer.
Where did you say I'm going?.... And what am I doing in a handbasket?

Come and join us on the tiny but fun forum at http://www.allanime.org
