Yeah I saw that, kinda made mention as to how it'll end up getting overused. But eh, what you going to do? Anyways, lets keep up the suggestions!!
From Zero: Erase
From Zero is a hardcore new metal band. Theme is kinda like this. Recruiting listeners to escape, what I think, is daily routine, trying to get back the life that was lost on routine. Might go great with compulation. Say Memories: Cannon Fodder, Grave of the Fireflies, and some others.

Bionic Jive: I Shot Lucifer
Pretty surpirsed this hasn't been used yet. BE THE FIRST ON YOUR BLOCK TO USE IT!! Would be amazing with Demon/vampire amvs,(Vamp D, Hellsing, etc.) I would classify it as heavy metal rap, or angry rapping. The beginning of the song is straight forward ranting about the evils of society. The end winds it all up and has female vocals. One great angry rant "A bullet with my name in case I go against the grain!" , "THE DEVIL IS YOURS, ThE lORd is Ours!!" (I assure you that this is no sort of christian rap) http://www.artistdirect.com/nad/music/a ... rtist_name
Nuf outta me. Happy listening!

Alright, here's a poser of a question: Why don't we hear more music from the 60's and 70's? There are some kick ass tunes out there from bands like Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd, The Doors, Harry Chapin, Def Leopard, The Eagles, Jimi Hendrix, Janis Joplin, Fleetwood Mac, and then some!
Sure, there are some kick ass vids to some of these guys out there in the ORG, but here's the thing:
Try searching for Janis Joplin in the ORG under the Super Search's Musical Artist and you get... NOTHING!
NOBODY has used Janis Joplin for an AMV? No Bobby McGee! This is not right!
Underground bands are nice and all, and make for some nice AMV's, sure... but...
...I think today's music sucks and sucks ass. Too much commercialization and even the underground stuff sounds bad. REALLY bad!
That's not to say all new music is bad. Gorillaz has new stuff coming out and NIN has some good stuff on their new album BESIDES "Hand That Feeds". (A song I am sure will be run into the ground faster than you can say "Dokinium")
But where are the classics? The rock stuff that made the charts a few decades ago! The stuff played on Classic Rock stations! There are only a few Rush or Motorhead AMVs out there! What's up with that?
People! We need more diversity in the music in our AMV's! We must not look to the future for all the inspiration, for we must also look to the past!

roger that rally cry Otakuman, rally engaged
Good point. Would be sweet to hear someone pull out the Led. It'd be cool to hear someone do cream: white room, or Devo's: Can't get no Satisfaction.
If someone is concerned about it being "too old" for them they should check out the song, or, if they want to get real creative, search for their remixes. I know of djs who have mixed up Frank Sinatra and surprisingly done a damn good job of it. Would be crazy, beng lots of animes are crazy, it'd be perfect.
Good suggestion man. Rallying with yah.

I wholeheartedly concur with your last post, OtakuMan. I'm very partial to music from the '60s and '70s; particularly the Beatles, Jimi Hendrix, and Lynyrd Skynyrd and think their songs would make for some great AMVs.OtakuMan22 wrote:Alright, here's a poser of a question: Why don't we hear more music from the 60's and 70's? Those are some pretty good suggestions there! I like 'em!
Let's see... what else is there?
I just did a search for Louie Louie (THE song to describe Animal House!) and came up with BUPKISS!
That song would go GREAT with all the antics for Here is Greenwood, or even better... MAISON IKKOKU! Dear Lord, the entire apartment building is like a frat house!
Following up on this, I did a search for Kenny Loggins's theme song for Caddyshack. Only came up with TWO and NEITHER of them were downloadable! But oh sweet Christmas, Kenny Loggins is practically 80's movies INCARNATE! Footloose? Danger Zone? And the songs for Caddyshack 1 AND 2?!!?!?
For another Kenny, I searched up Kenny Rogers to search for The Gambler... ONLY ONE! And that wasn't even local! Trigun can work, sure, but there are MANY others that would work just as well if not better!
Alright, enough classic rock rambling out of me. Time to pass the stage on to the next poster...

How about Loreena McKennitt?
There's a woman who deserves more recognition.
Or Faith No More?
Therion?
Opeth?
The Smalls? (On the Warpth or My Saddle Horse Has Died especially)
Ulver!!!!!!!
Seriously, the tracks from Perdition City would be brilliant for dramatic intense videos.
Beck.
Ween
Primus
Days of the New
I could go on forever.

My challenge, really, is making videos to ANY song. I don't like rock(just isn't my thing) and I despise pop(it should burn in hell, consumed in a lake of burning sulfur for all eternity), and yet its damn near impossible to make a video that isn't to rock or pop. And doing it well is even harder. So I try to find the few rock songs I can get into that could work, but the problem is - I don't LISTEN to rock. If I don't listen to rock, I have no clue what's available to use, and so I'm screwed.

I personally think that some of the best artists come from somewhere other then the US. I used to be in love with the music that the radio plays, but after hearing the same song a million times in a week I started looking for foreign artists. Now Stratovarius, Rhapsody, Sanota Arctica, Nighwish and a bunch of Japanese bands are my favorite to listen to. I do think however that there are some good artists in the U.S, such as Goldfinger. Unfortunatelly, many of them are not widely listened to and finding them can be difficult

...and the vast majority of the stuff listed here is still what I'd consider 'mainstream' - even if I agree that it's grossly underused!
And I'll still rage like a maniac until someone makes a Captain Beefheart AMV.
Well.
Most likely that someone will have to be me, as I doubt there's anyone else insane enough

The Birds are using humanity in order to throw something terrifying at this green pig. And then what happens to us all later, that’s simply not important to them…
