There seems to be more thought provoking series on Adult Swim now, so Eva should fit in nicely. I've never watched the dub, so i'll probably give it a shot when it airs...

Edited or not, I am happy that it is going to be shown in a format that most people are going to be able to access. Most of the people that I have seen new to anime are big fans of what they see on television and this is because that is what they have access. Some can't afford to go shell out $30 a pop on DVDs or even have a store near them that will carry them. Not everyone had cable on demand to watch the Anime Network.
Evangelion, no matter if you like it or hate it, was a seminal series that directly influenced how a lot of anime is made today. The impact it had is not something that can be marginalized. For many of the people that watch Adult Swim, this will be their first exposure to the series. I would hope that they would like it enough for them to seek out the DVDs in order to watch it as it was orignally meant to be shown. And it will be funny as hell after watching the entire series on Adult Swim to see their reactions after watching End of Evangelion.
