The best music to use is Michael Jackson, i know he is weird but he has great music, i have made 5 music videos already myself and i have only used Michael. His music has lots of beats and they are fast. His music will go well with any music video made. :P :D :)

I'm surprised no one has mentioned this yet, but I think Ska actually has a lot of potential for AMV's

The main "problem" with that is "nobody listens to Ska anymore" and not too many people like it.

I say, use music which hasn't been used yet.. Yes this applies to any and all genre's of music. Ska is a good idea for an amv, however I go by the saying "If you want to, do it", who cares if no-one listens to the band/genre make what you want and enjoy it.

Use whatever music you want. Whatever song you find that fits your idea perfectly is the one you should go with. :|

it depends on the anime content youre using... if you have a fight scene: use angry lyrics or heavy music, you dont have to use both at once. If your making a lovey dovey one: use a ballad of a song thats more melodic, if its just a fun, screwing around scene, use whatever: techno, electronica, something fun.

NOW Ive never actually made an AMV before  but i know what I like and what I would do if I were to ever make one

I agree with pink. It all depends on the situation. There is no ONE type of song that works everywhere.

Just like donuts, different kinds suit different tastes.

x2. I plan on using more songs (mostly hip-hop/rap) that are rarely used or haven't been used at all here before. I may even use some of the overused from time to time. Anyways, people are gonna do what they're gonna do when they make their vids.

My opinion, the best music you can make an AMV with is the music that fits. Some music may be overused, but if it fits the anime then it doesn't have to be a bad AMV.
The best music you can use is the music you like, and thinks works best with what you are doing. Making AMVs is an artform, not everybody has to like it, just as long as you like it. You don't make AMVs for other people, you make them for yourself, and if other people like it, all the better.

So, there is no "Best Music" only the music that you like and what you think would work.
