Live? If the music sounds good in my MP3 player, then it's good! Don't have to go to a concert, but that's an interesting idea.

Avril Lav...lawhatever was amazing live, but she's not real rock anyway. I hear rockbands don't sound to great live most of the time so how would the crazy band System of a Down sound? My friends and I will find out.

It matters. If you don't listen live you don't know if what you're listening to is synthesized, retouched, editted, and or messed with to make it sound acceptable for a CD.

If you listen live you know whether the band has any real talent, unless of course it's a pop star like Britney Spears or Ashlee Simpson (who we all know either can't sing anymore or could never sing in the first place).

Take for example The Strokes, on CD they sound alright...live they sound like they're killing cats. Ashlee Simpson...on CD she's okay...did you hear her performance at the Orange Bowl halftime show?

More examples, Reel Big Fish, these guys sound as good live as they do on their album...in fact they sound better.

This could go on and on.
