why don't you your self trying to illustrate your novels ? Don't think it's so hard , well it's so funny I think !
I liked to help you for illustrate your novels , but I'm so busy with my own manga ! but anyway , if you have a question , you can ask me !

Hundreds of years ago, a group of powerful sorcerers wanted to gain control of the world. In order to do it, they found a way to release the seven dragons of the Earth. These dragons are known as the dragons of fire, water, earth, wind, ice, light, and dark. They expected to use these powerful dragons to cause mayhem and destruction around the planet. However, these powerful dragons were to powerful to control and explained that they would never take order from inferior humans. The dragons killed each and every single one of the sorcerers. One of them never wanted to raise th dragons and developed a spell to seal them again. Unfortunately, he died before he could complete it on even one of the dragons. He thereby left it in a book that could never be destroyed. Satisfied with their victory, the dragons began taking control of the world. Humans fought back with everything they had, but to no avail. The dragons then made a compromise with the humans. There were no more dragons left on Earth, except for them, so they made this deal. They would allow the humans to live in peace without any trouble from the dragons, but the humans would have to do something in return. When a child is born, they may or may not be born with a mark of the dragon on them. If the mark is tatooed on them, that child would be turned into a dragon at the age of 16, and become servants to the seven dragons, thereby being forced to do whatever the dragons asked. Even if one refused, their bodies would do it against their will. The dragons thought the humans would kill any child before the age of 16 that had the mark, so they protected them with a spell that made them unable to die. They could still bleed, feel pain, break bones, etc. But, when they became dragons those injuries would disappear. Now in the present day, children born with the mark are taught to despise humans at a very young age, that way it will be easier on them when they become dragons. Some children show off there mark, in doing so they can bully regular humans around and teach them to be feared. Some children hide their marks, because they want to live normal lives until it's time. One boy for example, has managed to hide it for nearly 16 years, but accidently reveals the truth while trying to protect one of his human friends. The boy knows his time is drawing near, and wishes he could stay a human forever. However when the time arrives, he is able to keep his human form and turn into a dragon at will. He can also use the powers as he pleases, and is completely free of the dragons' control. He soon discovers that he is the decendant of the sorcerer that developed the spell to seal the dragons, and realizes he's the only one who can do it. He must first find the book though, and pretend to obey the seven dragons' commands.
Wow ! you have great ideas ! :o start to making it's manga . I bet you it will become so intersting . if you have another ideas , tell us ! :D

Well, I can draw, http://home.comcast.net/~wickeddelight/ but my drawing is not professional quality, and using it would be a disservice to my writing, which is professional quality. Also, I find drawing very frustrating - I'm not good at visualizing things clearly, and my drawings never come out the way I want, it takes like 4 drafts to get them to even look decent... :? Basically I neither enjoy drawing, nor am I happy with the results even when I work really hard. Writing is what my talent is for, and I'd rather let someone whose talent is for drawing handle that job.

Also, I prefer having a partner to bounce ideas off of rather than working by myself. And either the script or the art for a graphic novel series is a huge task by itself, it would take an absurd amount of work and time to try to do both.

well, I don't know what to say but yes , I think teamwork is much better than singlwork . have a partner is a good idea for you if you don't enjoy drawing ! I'm a graphic student who study in art school , so drawing is kind of my work ! but sometimes my drawing doesn't come out the way I want too but I never give it up and then I try again ! any way , some people are talented for writing and some people are talented for drawing but for become a great manga writer , we should learn both of them . :P

Yes those are all my drawings. :) But, I don't have the motivation to practice much. I have been studying and practicing drawing anime-style for 6 years now, until earlier this year, but I stopped because my drawings weren't getting any better - it seemed like I had reached the limits of my abilities. One problem is that I can't see where to improve my drawings any more - I have different taste than most people, and when I get another artist to critique my drawings I disagree with them about which drawings are the most successful, and I can't see what they say are the flaws I need to fix.

Like, with the ones on my webpage, Everyone picks this one as their favorite:

But I don't like that one much, I think the face is off, the forelocks are wrong, the wings are vague... I think the drawing is a mess.

On the other hand, I love this character:

But other people think the eyes and face are all wrong, and they can't even tell he's a guy.

I also wanted to add, I went to school to study writing - I have my B.A. in English. It would be really nice if I could just do what I studied to be able to do, but no one has any respect for the craft of writing - everyone thinks they have some great profound story to tell (even when it's cliche crap) and they don't need to study any technique to tell it...
