they probably don't like it cause they have no money but then again they should stop complaining, it brings attention to their song and eventually ppl will like it and it helps people decide what cd they want to buy. so in fact they're profiting from our hard work. also it's just like another view on their songs and what it means to that person so they really have no right to show what you think and feel hope that helped now can anyone show me how to get into the program or whatever to actually MAKE amv's? o_O
I'm not wierd i'm just different ^_^

to the person who posted above me: Evenescence has NO MONEY?? their RECORD LABEL IS BROKE? o.0 somehow I doubt that..
as for "me making it big":
if I really had my way, I'd be a big time movie producer/director/actor, but in most cases this requires you to be some kind of a "whore" or follow a certain type of crowd, and as with my experience with such a crowd: they suck...
AMV crowd is much nicer IMO...Though doing some nifty low budget things would be fun and I enjoy learning all I can about editing... most involvement I would want to have with his music would probably be videos which I would be glad to help with..

naw, my husband wants to be the musician, it was never a dream of mine to be any kind of pop singer... LOL.. as many times as friends have tried to convince me to do so...Animal4890 wrote:then you'd make it big and start selling your music and some peculiar fansite would make music videos with it and you'd be forced to take legal action...JaddziaDax wrote:LOL, I can sing alright I cant play guitar or piano, but ....
my husband plays both LOL, I like the softer version better though
I doubt he would be up for recording it though, and I am probably too embarrassed to actually share it lol... plus I wouldnt really want to "push it" for the .org cause its "in enough trouble" already
Much luck to Phade on all that.

Phade, I hope you see this. Have you thought about a general music clearing house. These places are a single point of clearing for licenses of music as used in commercials and such. You might try finding one and see if they can help.
Suggestion, how about moving the servers offshore to someplace like Tonga. Then you avoid the problem of copyrights siince not all country have the US's attitude toward copyright protection.
We are a minority and it doesn't seem right especially when you consider we're not doing things like ripping albums and such.
As for your stress Phade, *huggles*

He's stated that he has found licensing of any sort to be prohibitively expensive. Doesn't anyone read anything anymore?Lady_Rin wrote:Phade, I hope you see this. It's not that simple. Even if the server was located in a country with extraordinarily liberal copyright laws (mind you, the number of such countries that can provide that and a fast, reasonably-priced Internet connection is dwindling), a U.S. court can still intervene if users of that server are in the U.S.Suggestion, how about moving the servers offshore to someplace like Tonga. Uh, most people here rip CDs and DVDs for their source. Did you mean "distribute on a wide scale"?We are a minority and it doesn't seem right especially when you consider we're not doing things like ripping albums and such.
Oh wait, that's done, too. Hmm.

You *did* read those other threads right?Kike26 wrote: Well thats all I have to say what does anybody else think?
Basically it goes like this:
group A: This totally sucks, this is the end of the .org as we know it.
group A.5: mpaa and riaa have too much power, they suck
group B: So what, things were fine before the donut, they'll be fine after.
group C: "lolz I didn't read all the other stuff"
group D: You all suck, stop talking about this it's pissing me off
I'll assume that since there are already other threads out there that cover this exact same ground that this one will be locked, unless the mods want to turn it into a fireplace.

The thing about all of this that upsets me is it is not the artists themselves complaining, but the record company. I myself would have no problem with this whole thing if it had been Amy Lee herself that had contacted the site owner and said "I do not want you using my intellectual property in your derivative work." But the fact that it is some record company big wig that is doing so irritates me. Otherwise, no real opinion.
