Given we're looking over the religious connotations in EVA, this seems appropriate (...cause it never hurts to point this out from the number of people that have misinterpreted on some of this)

Finally, at the Otakon anime convention held in 2001, assistant director Kazuya Tsurumaki (who was the director of The End of Evangelion: Episode 25' Air - while Anno personally undetook The End of Evangelion: Episode 26' Sincerely Yours and acted as Chief Director) was asked directly what relvance Christianity had to Evangelion. This was his reply:
Tsurumaki: There are a lot of giant robot shows in Japan, and we did want our story to have a religious theme to help distinguish us.
Because Christianity is an uncommon religion in Japan we thought it would be mysterious. None of the staff who worked on Eva are Christians.
There is no actual Christian meaning to the show, we just thought the visual symbols of Christianity look cool. If we had known the show would get
distributed in the US and Europe we might have rethought that choice.

Gainax did their homework, but in the end, it was prettymuch just for show.

what is your point? the facts seem to be that the christian religion played a heavy role in evangelion story wise in terms of inspiration. A persons interpretation of the use of christianity in the show would be personal, whether or not it was the intension of the director.

That could just as easily have been taken from the Torah, seeing as the first five books of the old testament are taken directly from the Torah.

I know it does kinda sound that way. But I just wanted everyone to be aware of all the different stuff that goes on during the anime.
It is one of the greatest anime series of all time mainly due to its story.
Ill will also be picking up evangelion 2 for PS2 (JP) can anyone tell me if the whole series like all the battles and stuff will be in it ? Kinda like evangelion 64.
