I stopped trying to make amv's when I realised how much more fun it was to study for cisco certifications.

...... Not damn likely that they'll get finished
A shame too because a few of them kind of kick ass.
The way to alleviate that problem is to not suck at amv's.

I plan my AMVs before making them, so if it won't work I won't attempt to make the AMV. I have only scraped one AMV because I was experimenting with a new idea that was too difficult for me to do.

i started it in 2003, and i make little additions to it every now and then.. it just mainly collects dust till im finished *due out this september or october* other then that.. i have TONS of videos i start and never finish... i have like 50 from 2004, like 20 from 05, and prolly about 15 from this year... just sitting around.. .hanging out... but i shall not delete them.. for master beta 07 shall put them to use!

If you're going to make videos with the sole purpose of winnning awards that's one thing, but it hardly qualifies as a hobby so much as an obsession.
my problem is not that i dont enjoy making them any more... if u see any of my amv u will know that i dont focus on special effects, transitions etc etc
i still see my amv as a fan, not as an editor, so i focus on the scenes i choose (i still put some effort though)..
its just that i get tired of viewing the same spot over and over again...

(oh and i know that 5 out of 30 is not 5% it was just a random percentage :-) )
The first problem for all of us, men and women, is not to learn but to unlearn.

then just take a break. Or pick something that you can NEVER EVER get tired of hearing over and over, like William S. Burroughs, or William Shatner.
