You probably need two heads when looking at this AMV [YOKO]

After Vindichi - Trauer, no more Pale Cocoon video plz.

Even if the AMV, which I mentioned here didn't win any contests, it's still my favorite among PaleC's vid. I don't know why but it's for sure %)

I understand that is kind of hard to make AMV from such a small OVA… I think that this video of yours kinda interesting but it isn’t in the way I would like to see it. If you did presentation in “text” you should’ve been construct the video in the way that will completely improve your presentation in “text”. I see even people that speak your language left a little bit confused with the video. So there you have it.

It’s just my thoughts though -^^-

This is a very cool Pale Cocoon video, which we have too few of on the .org. I like that it's so different...although Paleness is still the best PC video here (in my opinion), this one is definitely worth keeping.

Hm, i dont like the long black screen but the rest of the video is really good. The idea of spliting the screen is really good.

did you read the explanation page? I found the 36 different in a positive way. I't did well setting the mood for the rest of the amv

1. Very nice AMV, I liked it a lot.

2. I think the text is unnecessary. Making it "67"
instead of "36" would have been more daring.

3. It always seems to me that long explanations
only serve for AMV editors to show how clever they
are. An AMV either stands on its own or it doesn't.

4. The mood, storyline and execution remind me a lot
of a commercial that a Toronto newspaper made a few years ago:

5. I'm glad people are liking this video, I much more enjoy
this slower style of editing than the barrage of ADD-oriented
stuff that usually gets posted.

Thanks for the comments Greggus! Could you elaborate more on a climatic ending? I always like endings that make you think, because those ending make you want to see the movie/AMV/etc. again, but you're right, you always need to work to a certain climax. It's just too bad - as an AMV editor you're always dependent on the material...

To be honest, when I heard that you were in the jury, I thought you were a specialFX-whore and that I would made it as one of the last! Fortunately, I couldn't be any gladder with you in the jury! So people might find it to be "too artistic" - I don't find that a reason: I could say the same about videos, that they're "too non-artistic". As for the masking, I've changed a few parts, so if you downloaded it, you see that it looks better. Thanks for the advice! (seems I didn't use feather at all at 2 of the parts - don't know how that happened!).

Thanks for your comments, but I don't agree, the explanatory page is to explain the video, not to tell the video. It's an analysis, kinda like books or even discussions about storylines of movies, games or whatever you have. The experience of a video is a whole different thing and has to portray a feeling, which an analysis can't do (kinda like scientific article can talk about anger, but can never really portray the feeling like a movie does with anger).

The explanations are a good way for me think about what I've really done in a video. I believe that as an editor you have to justify every cut you do, every effect you put in, even if you do things on improvisation, on feeling (which is a lot actually) - EVENTUALLY you have to know why you've done things at that moment and whether it works or not. So it's a good exercise for myself. I'm also interested whether people have the same vision and feeling I have about the AMV, even if it's just the same direction - so I know whether I failed in portraying the things I'd like to. Sometimes the stuff I do might be "too deep", but I always wondered where the border lies - I mean, sometimes you need a kick into the right direction to understand stuff or just know there's more to it than just the surface. I actually never saw long explanations of AMV's which explains scenes in detail- if you have some links then I would really love to see them (just to see how other editors think!).

Thanks for showing the link! I like some of tricks used for the two screens, I would've done more stuff too if I had better material. I like the zoom-in part in the video. I actually had no idea commercials could be so long!

I don't know if people actually like this video - I'm bordering on a 3.3 average... ADD-oriented stuff...lol, that's a good description! It seems that people have short attention span nowadays - like only 1/2 a second! But seriously, stuff that goes that fast, I just can't see what happens!

On a sidenote, some of the QCs I've gotten were [sarcasm]really nice[/sarcasm], but good to see what people think of it. So I just found out how it works here: it seems that QCs are the place for the more negative comments - I just wish the one who said that the I should learn to encode properly in h.264 would back his comment up properly - I mean, I thought it wasn't that bad, right?
