thanks for the info. I think I'll use huffyuv as it seems to be the popular one. I can convert avis to huffyuv using virtualdub right? and just another question. does after effects support huffyuv? sorry, I'm a total newbie in this lol

Yes, convert the avs with vitrual dub and yes, after effects can import huffyuv vids.

thx alot people, all of you are really helpful. thank god I came here. just one more thing. how do I get virtual dub? I mean the one that isnt corrupted? I downloaded 2 times, but my AVG always said the thing had a trojan horse in it. does anyone have a lnk to the proper virtual dub? Pleae and thank you

virtual dub seems to be working, but it doesnt seem to be able to import the file. It says directshow codecs are not suitable. what do I do?

may or may not be your problem, if you are completly missing the codec im not sure where to dl individually (i just got mine with the amvapp)
