have you seen the old 10% nya? it used to be a list that was displayed on the front page that we could ALL reference when looking for the best videos. Now it's just a joke. sure it's still relatively useful in finding a few videos that ppl call good, but not NEARLY the percent it was before. I am not saying it's worthless, I'm saying it's now much to easy to circumvent and way too many videos get passed over.

The second part may never be fixed though as the hobby has just grown too big, but regardless with the advent of qcs the admin(s) can't keep the rules to get onto the top 10% as stringent as before cuz nobody ever gives ops any more, yet if they weaken the guidelines they make it too easy for less deserving videos too take advantage of the fact.

I don't think this makes me an 'oldfag'.

People still give ops. Not as much as they used to, but they still give ops, serious ones or not.

The list may seem broken and not be useful to us, but maybe not to those who lurk the Org. Besides, there are still other ways of finding awesome AMVs on the Org.

I'm neither of those despite being called old when i'm 25. I don't beleive that amv's are dead,it's just like the music we use. It's only as dead as we let it be.

The top 10 is useless because practically all the other methods of searching for good vids are far better at finding them. Originally it was opinions alone that was the only rating, now there's 3 ways of raiting a vid and one of them takes next to no effort. Amv's have no real importance in the grad scheme, they are a hobby.

Real friends usually give unbiased ops and support the system.
I'd suggest reading the post I react to, because it's a response, much ripped from the context. It's more like "I get AMVs only from my friends => I don't use Top 10% => It's bad"
