It happens the other way around for me, trying to enjoy a song but either a previously created AMV pops into my head or I keep getting more AMV ideas. I think I have six running around now.

Same here. In fact, thats all I think about now when listening to music.

Actually I have this, but don't consider it to be a problem. I like being able to make up new ideas and use them... only problem is currently I can't make any new videos and this problem has me up to about 30 projects or so I want to make... you people should just SEE MY list... I'd show it on the Suggestions board if ya know, I didn't want them stolen. It's just long cause of the whole "hear a song, start picturing anime" thing.

Tell me if this happens to you. You try to sit down to watch an anime. As you watch it you start getting songs going in the back of your head. These songs start running around and before you know it your are looking at the anime trying to fit a song to it or going "hey, it would work perfect with this". I try to just sit down and casually enjoy anime but if I am working on an AMV I cannot watch anything. Except for the anime I am doing the AMV to. I just want to know how to turn that little AMV gremlin in my head off.

Oh yes it's terrible, I just made my first AMV and now every anime I watch I think about some song. Today I was thinking to use Anathema for a certain anime.
