Useless comments

Just curious, but is there any kind of collected evidence to suggest QCs killed the popularity of opinions? Or is that just based on "personal" observations?

It's based on personal observations, but I'm sure it's true. Maybe I can ask the person who runs this place to do an investigation.

I love people who leave useless 'Quick Comments' about videos.

I just got one about 'Animerata' that says "What in blazes did I just watch?".

That's it.

OK - you didn't like it, or understand it, or it's just not your style. Fine by me - I like it, some other people do also.

But WHY go to the trouble to leave a comment like that? Give an opinion that SAYS something. What's good about it - if anything. What's bad. Things like that.

Who cares? Don't take them too seriously, and laugh at the funny ones.

I think that's the purpose of the QC. The anonymity is what makes them worst. But I also got a few ones that were useless, and maybe offending to someone else, but I just laugh.

Gotta love some:
"The lip-sync is too mechanical; Light looks like a singing ventriloquist dummy."
A few had problems with my bad encoding : "What the hell did you encode the audio as? No matter what I do, I can't get winamp to play it,"

And by far, the best from my AMV called "Only asked for a good battle":

They're called quick comments, not quick opinions, so I've always felt QCs have a more open forum than what opinions are for. I know when I see a video, I don't always want to make some kind of criticism right off the bat. Maybe I want to leave a comment on how my first reaction was when I saw it, etc.

The way I see it, the fact that someone left a QC on your video means there was something about it that made them want to leave a comment for you to read, rather than just give you a star rating and move along.
