Not looking forward to working 4pm to 12am on Thursday and I hope to god I don't work on Christmas eve, that will be pure hell with all the people doing last minute Christmas shopping. >_>
Things I need to finish by this week, go to the bank, go shopping, go to the salon, pay my phone bill which is pass over due, work on my classes which one of them I'm failing
horribly just because it is so uninteresting I wish I never decided on the class. I'm so lazy I don't want to do any of it!

My coffee is cold T_T

$800 and a buyer that doesn't get back to you? Sure it's not a sewn up murrsuit? :D

Also, furries.

I found that hilarious and I wanted to read the comments on it but was it deleted? I can't find it on the site.
Also, I didn't submit that to reddit. So I guess someone else grabbed the SQ screenname? I'm not sure how reddit works. Not a redditor.
Actually, now that I think about it, that's rather fucking creepy now.

Well anyway.
So sue me for having disposable income and wanting to get a gift for myself? And give you all a laugh in the process? xP
It's not like a fursuit is the most important thing in my life right now. I've lived my entire life without one lol.
Even if I wasn't a furry I'd still probably want it. Costuming is a big hobby of mine. :3

They only took about a day to respond. I emailed them directly and they got back to me. This is the first suit they've made so I guess they don't know how to list them properly?
I dunno. I'll link you after the auction's over (if you're interested). But now that I'm "internet famous" I'll just keep what I was looking at to myself.
I can assure you this isn't a "murrsuit". It's a partial anyway. Even if it was used during sexual activities (which it wasn't) it doesn't have any pieces that would've been ruined. There's no bottom part of it. Just a head, gloves/hands, and a tail.

ANYWAY MY VENT FOR TODAY.
The barber went "oops". She did a great job of covering it up. But now I look way too moto. :(
At least I'm not totally bald...

Because my humor has yet to leave me, ohithar.

I didn't think squids got haircuts! lol jk

I hate getting haircuts on the installation, long lines and the always seem to find a way to mess up your hair. You at Sasebo?

rofl we don't normally care underway, but we're in port now so there's no excuse not to.

Sasebo's pretty good. I dunno how Hario is but at CFAS they have good Japanese barbers and I've never had a problem with them until today. Really the mistake today was about miscommunication or mistranslation, I guess. I said medium fade and #1 on the sides. For some reason she thought that meant a high and tight and started the #1 near my temple. :gonk:
I probably just explained it wrong. Luckily I had a picture with me anyway so I just gave her that afterward and told her to fix it to the best of her ability. Which she did, so I'll give her that.

As far as pretty much every other installation though, I'd agree. Even okinawa has some shitty barbers. And I absolutely refuse to get my hair cut on the ship by any of their "barbers". I usually have a friend do it in a shop. Last float a Marine did it; it was one of the best haircuts I'd ever gotten~

This right here... this is why I don't like youtube: http://arstechnica.com/tech-policy/news ... videos.ars
Seriously hoping UMG is full of it, but if not, it's pretty chilling.

I'm making a long vent about my personal disgust with recent tax regulations under teh spoiler, because I don't want to bore you to death with it if you're not interested.
Spoiler :
The new tax regulations over CPAs and registered tax preparers is a load of bullshit as I learned yesterday to my utter disgust at my continuing education class.

The recent regulation was made because of a 13 billion tax gap over the income tax credit (so basically 13 billion that the IRS didn't get last year), and the government believing it to be the fault of under-qualified paid preparers. As such, they now require background checks and a competency exam before you can sign/prepare income tax returns for profit. (This doesn't affect people that self-prepare returns or prepare for free, just to clarify.)

GRANTED. I honestly believe that the regulation is a good thing. Paid preparers SHOULD have to take a competency exam (which I'll be taking soon), especially when it's such a big deal like income taxes, and people's money/finances are at stake. That's not what I'm complaining about. I'm all for it, and I personally agree with that part.

The whole thing is a hoax. You don't have to take the competency exam to prepare other returns, so long as you promise NOT to prepare 1040's and sign an affidavit. So that means that corporations, s-corps, partnerships, charitable organizations, private establishments, ect can be be prepared without the competency exam and certification. As a person that's done several corporate/partnership returns, I can guarantee you that they are 10 times more difficult and time consuming than a 1040 (individal) tax return. In fact, the 1040s are generally (with the exception of people that are self-employed, are very wealthy, or who do a lot of international investments) the easiest and least in need of competency. Hell, if people read the instructions well enough, they can do it on their own. (But you didn't' hear that from me.)

Which leads me into my next disgust. The Secretary of Treasury bold faced LIED when he told about the purpose of this exam. He said it was to ensure that preparers have a complete understanding of the income tax code.

Bullshit. To know the entire income tax code is ludicrous. Not even CPAs or people with doctorates in accounting know all of it. It changes yearly and the laws are specifically written to be interpreted, not "known". Additionally, this doesn't include the case laws and IRS decisions (which are also plausible sources of authority if there are no primary sources). Plus, in 2006 it was entirely re-written, so anybody prior-2006 in tax education had to re-learn virtually everything. This is why we have codified tax research databases for research. Half the work of preparing a return is the research and seeing if the clients missed anything they could possibly deduct. The databases are there specifically to look up everything that we don't know, and to confirm/deny changes.

The REAL purpose of the exam is to make sure that preparers know all about the earned income tax credit, which should (in theory) bring the tax gap to a much more reasonable size.

Oh and the best part? The study materials for this exam to make us "know the entire tax code" handed out by the government are the freaking publications and instructions for returns made by the IRS, which are not primary tax law, not part of the code, and not binding in a tax court.

So basically, they've got a good idea that went and shat all over itself in stupid decisions.
In short, if you claimed an earned income tax credit in the past or plan to claim it this year, make sure that you're actually eligible, lest you be audited straight to IRS hell in 2011. xD
