I have two questions, which are both fairly subjective.

1. After this thread topped 70 pages, I finally have to ask. What's the big deal, is it really that good? what makes it better than the 5,000 other drama\romance anime out there.

2.Which do you prefer. Kanon, Kanon 2007, or Clannad? (Or Air while we're at it, I admittedly haven't seen any of Key's works)

Nothing, other than the fact that I, the almighty Pas like this show. All other reasons are void.

In all honesty, i'm pretty sure the main reason why Clannad, along with Kanon and Air, are relatively popular, is because its got lots of stupid pretty girls that reek of moe. Some people watch it for the drama, like me, but because Clannad isnt an overly sappy drama fest like Kanon was, Clannad isn't as popular because people expected another Kanon.

I personally thought Kanon was really over the top most of the time so the lack of overly supernatural elements and ughuu in Clannad was a relief for me. Plus most of the girls in this show have a backbone and aren't as stupid and dog-like as they were in Kanon so.. i appreciate it in that aspect.

So basically... put Clannad characters into Kanon story and you have the win.
"Alternative Kanon Opening: Clannad Style" - someone do it. :amv:

For some reason episode 24 didn't feel like Clannad anymore... something was missing... oh I know, Nagisa.
