Not the first time I've heard this said. Usually those who hate Love Hina see it as degrading to women or otherwise crude. But I'm a guy so all the better!

j/k, well not really. I'm somewhat understanding if those are your reasons. How much of the show have you seen?

Well, you pretty much assessed it right there. I hate fanboy wish--fufillment "multiple gorgeous multi-talented girls fall in love with a dorky useless guy for no apparent reason" titles, and Love Hina is a particularly horrid example.

All they do is perpetuate stereotypes, in America and in Japan.
Don't you hate it when people describe something as "cute" when they really mean "God, I want to fuck that"?

I take it you're not going to answer this question. Not that it matters too much. Love Hina wraps up into a nice love story by episode 24, and we think the show is pretty much over, then comes episode 25 (the final episode of the TV airing series) and it knocks some sense back into us. (For those of you that have seen the series, recall a certain incident with Keitaro trying to save Motoko as she falls down the stairs  ).

After the decent Xmas and Spring Specials, Love Hina "ends" with Love Hina again.
Love Hina Again takes Love Hina to glorious new lows in Echi humor, before ending with a somewhat concrete ending (which contradicts the still running manga). Akamatsu doesnt want the antics to end, and neither do I 8) .
That being said I understand why you would be offended by it. Ironically, I've had friends (guys) who wont watch the show because they think its too much of a romance.

Um, no, because I forgot to.

I watched up to that stupid beach episode. Then I convinced my friends that forcing me to watch any more of it would kill me.

I don't think "wrapping it up into a nice romance" at the end is justification for the vicious stereotyping within it or the misogynistic premise.

Well ahem, now that I think I understand you better, I would also urge you to avoid Ah my Goddess, Golden Boy, Tenchi etc. Golden boy might kill you.

Oh, I do. Except for Goldenboy--after all, I do have a sense of humor. My problem with Techi-esque anime is their prevalence and the fact that they present misogyny as cute, cuddly, fun, and acceptable.
