I made my Triad avatar purely in MS Paint. I strung the images together into an animated GIF using Adobe Premiere. I also have a much more smooth version, but it's too big to be an avatar.
Ask me about my secret stash of videos that can't be found anywhere anymore.

I made my avatar by resizing/extracting bmps from Ah! My Goddess.. and then it went to Photoshop for compression. :D

Nothing beats taking scenes from dvds..

god, you SUCK at making avaters, you are absolutley terrible...

You had a good idea, but 1) you went through WAY too much trouble, and 2) what's with the black background?

Premiere? Seriously. There are a ton of animated gif programs, just download one off kazaa, like Jasc

And instead of using paint, try using photoshop, so you can crop that triangle out and leave it with no background. Then that way it'll just be a triangle by itself floating over what ever background you want, instead of having that big black space.

You might be able to wipe out the black blackground in Jasc, no that it's already done.

I still can't believe you name is BLACK Monarch and you made that GREY skull in paint and put it on the crappy white background

Just because YOU don't like them doesn't mean they suck. I made all of my color decisions for a reason.
Jace Tsunami wrote: 1) you went through WAY too much trouble
No I didn't. The trouble was part of the reason why I made this avatar.
Jace Tsunami wrote: 2) what's with the black background?
It brings out the colors better. And there's the name. I need to have black somewhere in my avatar, don't I? I can't be the Black Monarch if I have "teh gayz0r triad" on a WHITE background. Ye gods, what madness that would be!

I could... or I could use a program that I already have and am familiar with...

But I WANT the black space. I'm not "teh gayz0r Monarch"

Let me explain the proces: (a) The border between the crown and the background had to be black, because black is the universally recognized color of borders in animation and illustrations. (b) the background had to be white to distinguish itself as much as possible from the border and the crown. (c) The main crown color had to be the darkest available shade of gray, to make it close to black without making it too similar in shade to the border. (d) the skull had to be a light off-white kind of color, because that is the color of real skulls and I wanted it to stand out as much as possible from the crown without being the same color as the background.

The most important part is that I create and like my own avatars. And they have pretty colors.

remember the crown I made for you? I just switched everything up.

You're right, if the border was black, and so was the crown, it'd look stupid, so change border. I made your border an INCREDIBLY dark purple, and gave it a 50% opacity so it'd see through to what ever it's ontop of, I also got rid of the white background.

That's not entirley complicated, AND, there are darker shades of grey than that horribly ugly thing you made.

And I personaly don't think your new avater looks bad, that's not what i'm saying, what I'm saying is you absolutley SUCK at making them. You went through WAY too much trouble.

and Fyrt, I know this avatar isn't cool, it's just sending a message. I've already made avatars that roxxor. My original one was awsome, I still use it at the Bebop.
