Annoyingly, Masashi Kishimoto ("the guy who writes the manga") doesn't even care about Hinata, despite her being frequently in the top 10 most popular characters (usually just a place behind Sakura). I mean, we all know she's Naruto's designated love interest, but (anime filler aside) look at how much she actually appears in the story: she offers to help Naruto cheat on the written part of the chuunin exam, she gets the living crap kicked out of her by Neji and she gives Naruto some encouragement before he goes and flattens Neji in return. Since the second half began she has appeared in TWO PANELS in the entire series, and all she does is hide when she realises Naruto has come back and then faint when he pops up next to her. I was convinced that after Asuma died there would be something with Hinata and Kurenai (Kurenai giving her some advice about the dangers of hiding your feelings when you're in love with a ninja, perhaps?) but so far, nothing.

Either Kishimoto is REALLY saving her for later, or he simply can't be bothered with her. Even the anime staff realize she's worth more than that (look at how much she appears in the filler) but Kishimoto just won't do anything. Which is a shame, because I like her too.

I'm hoping Hinata is just being saved, but who knows.

Does it ever piss you guys off how DB jerks us around? I know they are providing a free service and i love it like a fat man loves cake, but come on. They tell us they dont know when the filler is over, then they say the "end" of the filler and they knew all along, then they say they lied again. Fucks sake

We don't talk about fansubs here, I think. Also, I blame the studio that made Naruto for whoring it up.

Ok, but what do you mean you blame the studio? And what's that about whoring it up?

Fillers....lots and lots of fillers...hence blame the studio for milking their cash cow...

Yeah, i agree. Do they wonder why their numbers go down, or is it that they dont care? Seriously, how many viewers do they use. I personally know a lot of people who have stopped watching naruto until the fillers end, myself included.

The drop in Japanese television animation audience ratings for many animation shows has been particularly dramatic in the past year or so, regardless of reasons offered

Ratings are fine in proportion to how the industry is doing.

Here's the "general" unsupported foreign sentiment:

Lastly, but not least important, is basic demand and supply logic: If the targeted audience continues to consume the product, there must exist a demand for it. If there exists a demand, keep producing the product. If the demand becomes less than the supply, lower the supply.
