I have no idea what you're doing, but it sounds about creative enough for this project.

Interesting. Always wanted to do a stills video. Keep us updated, etc. :)

By the way...

While we're still waiting on Pen-Pen's possible voicing - any ideas as far as background music for the commentary tracks on widescreen? Seeing how it's supposed to be a guy sitting there in a chair smoking... something appropriate to that situation.

I've been thinking along the lines of jazz music of some sort. Unfortunately, I can't say I listen to much 'unobtrusive' music that would work there.

Ideas?

Ok I made alittle progress on the video here is a small clip http://www.ooshna.com/Pallar.avi I know that there is a black gap in the begining that is there b/c i am going to edit with a timeline for each instrument by it self to give it a complex feeling.

P.S. Let me know what you think

We need background music for both the fullscreen and widescreen commentaries. Rose had sent me the fullscreen recordings without any bg music mixed in... and I don't see any other music files on the disks.

Jazz music sounds right for the widescreen commentaries. I don't listen to enough jazz of the "subtle" variety though, so I'll have to ask for suggestions.

Check out the stuff in thisfolder. It's mostly music from anime for now... I still need to dig up my classical and piano music CDs and rip them.

Just backed up all the project files to DVD this morning. Hooray.

And finally, the encoding update. Along with an update in track order.

Found a clip of cigarette smoke. I took it from Wolfwood's last scene in Trigun, with some extreme color modifications. It doesn't really have the fanned-out curling that I wanted, but it works well nonetheless.

Ooshna: hey, that's kinda cool, though I can't really say anything based on 5 seconds. :p Are you planning to do the whole song with cuts like that? I suggest that you use both sharp and smooth transitions. Maybe add in some pans or camera motion for the long cuts?

Howdy guys. Anyway, as Jasper mentioned earlier, I enquired about possibly submitting a video to help fill the full-screen length gap.

Some of you probably know about the defunct Second Instrumentality project that never really got off of the ground. I made a video for thie Japan track of this project entitled Bushido Dawn (http://www.animemusicvideos.org/members ... hp?v=50408), and if you would all allow it, I'd love to be able to get it into this project (I've been really looking forward to it ever since it was originally announced). So if you'd have me, I'd be grateful. The video is short (just under 2:00), and uses The Hakkenden as source material and the song Uga composed by Japanese composer Mamoru Samuragoch.

Well, you know what I think. Since I sort of tried to encourage everyone to do something for the never-materialized 2nd Instrumentality project (and I couldn't and still wouldn't be able to manage it myself), I can only encourage the one video actually made for it to be rightly included in the first project.

And I do like it. It's definitely project material, and seems to fit in on all counts.
The spinning thingy is pretty catchy... :)

It has the feel of a anime opening video. :P
I like the music. And it looks like you've done your research on it and everything, which is good 'cause all that stuff is necessary for the project. :P

So yeah. Guys, PM Kalium with your votes this week. Make sure it has something like "Animasia vote" in the title. We'll have a decision by next Thursday, the 11th.

I know it's probably more "fair" to wait for the completion of all the new videos and vote on them together, but I think it's more important to keep things moving. If voted in, TJ will still have to send me files, write an commentary, get to to Songbird so she can record it, etc.

My own video is on temporary hold because I've got some big papers due within the next week. (Homework during the summer... blah.) I can show you guys a partial beta, but... well, I don't want to desensitize y'all to the creepiness yet. :P

the music plays a large role too. it's orchestrated in an overdramatic way that reminds me of the themes to superhero tv shows.
