Yeah that Kyou thing would have been much better as an ova thing way too much angst for a 20 minute episode or w/e and only 4 main characters. I was much happier to see Yohei now though lol.

Just a heads up, but clannad (the first series atm) is getting a blu-ray disc box release in april. It'll be a limited edition, so it will be much like the kanon blu-ray release, hopefully matching in quality too.
Perhaps some of you already knew about it, but thought I'd put the news out there anyway.

So the english dub has been going on for awhile, and I'm not sure exactly how many episodes they have out, but it must be quite a few. From the clips I've seen on yt, there must be 7+ episodes out now.
So far it's not bad, but I've come to the conclusion that Tomoya's voice is absolutely horrible. I'm disappointed with their choice in his voice actor, because there hasn't been one scene as of yet where I actually liked his voice. And Fuuko's voice actress ruined one of her funniest moments in episode 7 (or 6).
Tomoyo's voice remains cocky, and I hate that. Plus Kotomi isn't as aloof as she sounds in the japanese dub.
Sunohara has his good moments, but I've heard better fandubs :/
Don't have much an opinion on the anyone else. I wasn't blown out of the water by any let's say.
Overall, I'm not impressed with the cast. I'll continue to skim through the episodes in hopes of seeing better dub.

I'm a little disappointed that I'll be missing out on a Boxed Set since I have the Clannad Collections: even more so since the dub box set will most likely have some behind the scenes stuff (possibly.) But I can't complain: Clannad Japanese seiyuus did a wonderful job with the series, and so I am used to them more. I am sure the dub will become better as it progresses, though. David Matranga really hasn't ever disappointed me. Sure, he sounds a little old, but Ishbalan made a good point in the other topic about how he graduates out of school, marries Nagisa, gets a job etc., so I have a feeling that Matranga will probably sound more fit for Tomoya by After Story.
The only person I genuinely don't like in Clannad's dub is Sunohara. I HAVE heard better fandubs of him, and I really fear that the only reason they made him SSunohara was because he was that other guy from Kanon who was also basically Sunohara. =(

I'm thinking of rewatching the first series. I always look forward to the Kotomi arc.
