keiichi87 wrote:i agree with earthcurrent and KhayotiK's ideas. if we had a set of rules, man.. this forum wouldn't be much fun. i think it works best when MODs get to edit posts and the such as their own discretion. Nobody wants (especially the n00bs) to be treated like dirt I mean.. Phade chooses them, right? And this is his web site, not ours, even if we are a tightly-bound community.

i'm not against the MODs anyway, cuz they leave my concise, non-violent posts alone. :)

besides, if they do anything oppressive or that displeases us, we can always leave a message for Phade and he'll take care of it.

Let all just get along. "Cuz when you're at the the Org, you're FAMILY."
HA! Funny, man. Real funny. A family...oh God. I think I'm gonna die laughing.

(Which I'm sure some of you are hoping will happen, or at least the dying part)

I honestly doubt Phade would do anything. Even if I liked the forum ALOT, I wouldn't leave it to Phade to discipline the mods. I have a feeling it's like a junkyard: The owner leaves the dogs to do what they want and all he needs to know is he's still the "master" of the place. This is the best way I can put it, anyways.

As for the whole OPEN mods thing, it's a system that works better. I have proof if you want the link, though I won't post it until you ask. I mainly go to a forum where the mods actually take part, OPENLY, in the forums, almost like normal members. They simply have administrative powers. Of course, it would still fall apart here without the one single most important factor: Phade. In the situation that he tries this, he too must take at least SOME part in the forums, allowing people to know him better and get to the point of forming a friendship so people won't want to disobey the rules. Trust me, it'd probably make things run smoother. Look at cold war Russia for more proof.

Of course, this is all opinion and you can choose not to believe it.
She didn't have legs! I guess Jerry remembered that my ultimate fantasy was to f*ck a girl with no legs. Jerry started feeling up her big tits as he rotated her on my love muscle. Soon she was spinning on my dick like a record on a turn-table. I couldn't contain myself any longer and I unloaded a HUGE load of SPUNK into her.

I also agree, DCEmulation.com's forums have the BEST and COOLEST mods. Why you ask? Because the mods openly participate with the regular people of the forums. Unlike phade, who coems off this thone eveyr once and a while to make a new anouncement, beg for money, or say a pic of a giant cummign penis is going to stay. or the mods who will edit your posts to make fun of you, delete your posts, lock them, or 'prune' them as they call it. The mods actually openly participate in discusions, 'help people' (that's like the oposite of what you do, in case you were wondering what those strange words mean, mods.) and actively contribute. These people are role model mods. If I had to choose, I'd take these guys over the a-m-v.org guys, not just to mod, but to hang out with and stuff like that too.

take a look, no flame wars, no complaints, to thread pruning all over the place, the DC emu forums are peaceful and happy. Probably because the mods arent hidden so they can't do anything to deliberaty piss people off. Unlike these mods, who will delete or edit your post and then procede to laugh while they move on to the next victim.
So in other words, one part of the community is waging war on another part of the community because they take their community seriously enough to want to do so. Then they tell the powerless side to get over the loss cause it's just an online community. I'm glad people make so much sense." -- Tab

The mods post on occasion other than the bracket comments, I am sure. And they can do it without people knowing they are a mod, so they don't get hassled when they do post.

I still don't see how all this is a big deal but *shrugs*

Right, and I'm sure right now Phade is saying "Wow, these guys are right. Sorry, MODS, you aren't funny and cool enough... get outta my sight."

Phade is too busy to participate, and I'm sure the mods, after having dealt with so much stupidity, aren't too eager to join in on the "fun" that is the Org.
Kusoyaro: We don't need a leader. We need to SHUT UP. Make what you want to make, don't make you what you don't want to make. If neither of those applies to you, then you need to SHUT UP MORE.

I was reffering to http://www.anime-forums.com, but your example also works. People like the mods there because the mods JOIN in their revelry, not act like stuck up security guards. Maybe if the mods here made the transition, you'd notice ALOT more "friendliness" going around, especially towards the mods.

Yes they do, they are the biggest part. Just because they don't enforce the rules on themselves doesn't mean they arent any better. It's like saying "So what if I killed him? I'm a cop and he came at me with the milk carton in a threatening manner!"
