Probably Robotech, at least that I recall.
My dad raised me on all of his sci-fi addictions.

I remember watching sailor moon only because I remembered that my elder brothers hated it. Can't even remember how old I was... 4 maybe...

Re: First anime you ever saw?
I can't exactly recall the first anime I watched. It was either RoboTech or one of the mechas: Tranzor Z (Mazinger Z), Danguard Ace, Grendizer; however, I did not realize they were "Anime" at the time.
The first anime I watched where I actually knew it was anime was Project A-Ko during SciFi's Sunday morning anime program in 1996. I ended up renting the other movies/OVAs after watching the first two on the SciFi channel.

Vampire hunter D when i was between 8 and 10 years old. At the time it was the most amazingly violent things I'd ever seen. I was hooked from there.

The first anime I saw if I remember is a tie between pokemon, DBZ, Sailor moon or ruroini kenshin. I remember watching all of these shows at a young age. All from toonami which one of them came first I don't know. But regardless I had a great time watching anime.

Re: First anime you ever saw?
I have two answers for this.
My first animes in which I knew they were anime was Card Captor Sakura (CardCaptors at the time), Pokemon, Digimon, and pretty much the Toonami line up late 1990's - early 2000's
However my actual first in which I had no idea what anime was from ages 4 - 9 were Little Nemo: Adventures in Sumberland and Puss'n Boots: Around the World in 80 Days/Travels Around The World with a clip or two of Sailor Moon. I use to have the VHS of both movies and watched them so much Little Nemo was pretty much ruined. Luckily I now have that on DVD but there nothing on the other movie anywhere and I lost the VHS years ago =(
I just recently found out those two are anime. I find it kinda funny now that two of my favorite movies as a kid were indeed anime and I'm such a big anime fan now.
