It Happens
Well I suppose being a natural could be considered less demanding. Plus all you do is not from some advantage given to you.
However think of it this way. People have advantages and disadvantages now. Some are environmental, some genetic, some cultural, and some just plain bad/good luck.
Its not like everyone would actually put extra abilities to use. Plenty of people have great potential and never use it. Extra abilities would just lead to a higher standard of excellence. But it would also give the means to achieve it with no more difficulty than now.
danielwang certainly had the idea. You can't unmake things.
Once something is changed or discovered you can run, but you can not hide. It happens over and over in history. Change happens and the people in a position to dislike it will make things worse with suppression.
I like to use Napoleon as an example. He was the first political leader in some time to actually work hard. (Seriously he ran a lot personally.) He tossed out institutions of oppression, standardized things (like measurement), and implemented the ideals of the revolution with the stability it lacked. He delivered what he promised. Granted his law system was based on guilty til proven innocent and he did take over places that did not benefit like some others.
Then bam the reactionary nobility attacked to take back their privileged positions. But Napoleon still won despite his exile. Europe was changed forever. It had known something of unity, organized law, and the benefits of a more modern world. No matter how much the nobles tried everything could not be erased.
You have to deal, manage, and adapt the old with the new. Otherwise it can get ugly.
Take the movie The Last Samurai for instance. Kasamoto’s efforts upheld a since of pride of a nation. It was a matter of changing for the better without forgetting what is still good.
