If I may make a tiny little suggestion, make sure the creator's name is in the AMV filename! For some reason, a lot of creators forget to include much info inside the video, so it's really annoying having amv's and have no clue who made them. Although I admit this is more true of older videos then newer ones.

I collected through file sharing a long time ago too, and that was my main problem once I started caring about finding more vids by the same creator.

I used to have my AMVs sorted by creator, but then my harddrive died on me and I download all the AMVs again but this time I didn't sort them. Would you like to sort out or rename 43GB of AMVs? You can use a-m-v.org and the DC-hub to download and find info more effective than if you use just one of them at the time.

And next time my harddrive dies on my I'll be damn sure to sort them. ^^;;

It's not you I'm worried about -- it's others. The "inter" in "Internet" brings with it possibilities that must be carefully managed.

I have a fairly good idea what kind of traffic my machines see, having taken random samples of such traffic. It's not pretty. While I'm doing pretty well now in terms of machine security, the last thing that I want to do is rip open a new hole.

i know a thing or 2 about comps and i deal with people who are scared to try new things. (my friend thinks IRC is a virus) it's mostly because they don't understand or they want the system to be very secure. as for me theres not alot to lose (though i did almost cry when 100gigs blew up in my face) when using computers more and more you get a little smarter about them and you start to understand the real riskes involed with doing things. theres people like me that throws them selfs out there becuase they have nothing to lose. and other people who like there computer the way it is and isn't certan about change. so people have a right to be a little paraniod, computers are a scary thing, if you trust them with valuable data (like Huffy version of your AMVs) then your not gona trust anything that trys to mess with your comp. as for me i'm setting up the DC connection now (never herd of Direct connect but i've used IRC fileservs and bit torrent and even some kazaa/gantla network this shouldn't be too differn't)
