well All I can say is when I go to run the installed XP says "not desgined for blah blah blah press ok to terimnate" 8(

This really sucks. I had the same thing happen to me with Carmagedon 2 (he he he) where in win2k and winxp they actually have code to detect the os, and it has to be in the list, no matter if it would actually work or not. If this is your problem, then dual-booting or emulation might be your only recourse.
