that was real, I caught a glimpse of it (hitting, uneven trades, selling defective (ie torn/damaged) for a high price), but thankfully they banned the cards at school before it got that far...

Its for real Spike and it was absolutely vicious. I remember local TV news stories of kids being bilked out of rare cards by older kids that traded them commons. Then there were fights over Pokemon games. It did not put a good taste in the mouth of many parents. That was near 8 years ago.

I think I was 23 years old.

you're lucky, I was still in grade school. I was right in with the recieving end of the scams. I wised up after the ninetails card they traded me (had it's corner coming apart, but they kept it in a card sleve.)

I would have to say 1999 when Eva came out. It was my first anime and if I didnt like it, I would probably not have the collection I have today. Either that or 2002 when I stood outside my local Suncoast waiting for them to get their shipment of FLCL. First and probably only time I will do that.

Oh yeah, and Minmei's NEW songs.... Dont even get me started. A friend an I watched all 3 parts of Robotech one week. I can still remember...
