Alright well the person said she was "Pretty sure you can only submit one entry."
So... We'll see what happens, Niotex, but you might want to consider a backup plan, because I have an idea for this, too. ><;;

By the way, if you use any of the audio from their page, you will not be legally allowed to distribute your clip to anyone other than Anime Network. Their rules grant you a license to use their audio clips for making contest entries ONLY.
Just thought people should know about this. I am still lacking on ideas for this, save for one crazy idea I had last night, which I would never be able to pull off.

You are granted a limited license to download from our website, reproduce, edit, combine with other material and upload to our website the ANI Content solely in connection with the Contest and for no other purpose.

Bleh. Original content I can probably handle... but absolutely none of those audio tracks have much if any appeal. Does anyone know if you have to use them, or is it alright to use original audio instead? I can understand them not wanting you using your own songs because they'd have to get the license for them, but if you use your own audio, I'd think it shouldn't be a problem...

Is it possible to use those audio clips for anything at all? :PCoderjoe wrote:By the way, if you use any of the audio from their page, you will not be legally allowed to distribute your clip to anyone other than Anime Network. I and some of my friends were interested in entering this, until we were slammed against a wall by the overwhelming blandness of the audio.
Heck, the Country selections in the BackTraxx library has more appeal than what they put up...

I'm not sure if you can use your own audio or not, but they probably have nothing against it.
I DO know, however, that you can mux those tracks together however you choose. =p

I think they're pretty clear that "you will use our music or else".
I don't know how much it can help, but it couldn't hurt to look at some of the ad's they're running now. There is one at the start of their (ADV's) newer DVDs just after the FBI plug. But it uses anime scenes which is verboten for this contest.
If you're a Comcast subscriber with a digital box, check out the short eyecatch that runs just after you select an Anime Network title. I've seen two different shorts, both using original footage (mostly) and both lasting about 10-15 seconds:
One has live action footage of an underground garage while an animated cable (or something like that) snakes through the pillars. Background music is techno.
The other has a live action scene of cars parked along a street. A Macross jet flies in, hovers, beams up one of the cars, and takes off. Light elevator music plays.
