Just as I thought, they axed my account because of the InuYasha videos. It is not like we are getting paid to do this. This is kind of a free promotion to these companies and all they are doing is complaining now. I have bought most of my animes from seeing AMVs (almost half my colection was from seeing it on AMVs). The most popular one I bought after watching the AMV was Naruto. I think after my next AMV which I am still trying to find out how to make (since I upgraded to Vista 64bit, having a hard time thinking of a way to make the AMV without buying new equipment and trying not to use movie maker), I think it will be the last AMV I am going to make. I was happy at first, making a good AMV to start that I was hoping to make it all the way at ACen AMV contest but I was still happy it made it as far as it did and got a mention in the top 5 or 10 (can't remember how many lol). I don't blame all the companies, just the greedy ones. And for some of the work I have seen people do on here, I think there hard work should not be put to rest like that. Without us watching these animes, giving them a name in America and Japan, these companies would be nothing. At least we are not on a self made website selling copies of there work like some companies are doing. I got stuck with a bad subtitled version of .hack before I knew what was going on and seeing a symbol used in many illigal copies and reading about it.

I know, they are the biggest problem. I still think they shouldn't AIM at everyone because of the stupidity of others (wow, i spelled it correctly lol). I shoud mention also that not just Anime I have bought from watching AMVs, but also CDs too. Well, if anyone knows of a good editing program for 64-bit Vista, let me know. I may have found it anyways by the time you reply but others may want to know also.

Legally, if they boot the videos containing full episodes, the AMVs also have to go. They cannot pick and choose which Inuyasha videos can stay and which need to be removed since doing so weakens their legal standing. Plus, it's much easier to take all of them off instead of looking at each one and determining if it's a fan-made video (AMV) or an uploaded episode. Not to mention that we don't have the rights to use the music that go along with the anime in these AMVs (except for rare instances), which is a double whammy.asi2577 wrote:I know, they are the biggest problem. OK... so i read through this and got to the part where someone threw "Happy Holidays" around. My eyes immediately shot to the date. WTF? Why the necroposting?

Missed this part...
If this has any basis in truth, consider any product owned by Viz to be free game - the site narutofan.com has been reported to them countless times over the past few years for essentially selling anime downloads and they have done nothing to protect their copyright.Willen wrote:They cannot pick and choose which Inuyasha videos can stay and which need to be removed since doing so weakens their legal standing.
