I know your pain *weeps* None of my best work is up here cause it all got deleted....

But anyway.

What I did was toy around with WMM for roughly a year maybe a little less. One day I kinda had a breakthrough XD. In my opinion the most important things in an amv (In order) are these

1. Flow - Your video can match every beat in the song and have lyric synch and all that, but If it doesn't have general Flow and A good feel about it, It can turn to complete Shit. Main point of flow is Scene Selection, and a good fade out here and there never hurt anyone (...) either.

2.Lyric Synch - This is Matching the video with the lyrics. It's possible to have a Good video without any lyric synch, But if you want an emotional vid or a slower one with meaning this is an Absolute must. An example of this would be (And excuse me, I am just using this to be extremly general and easy to understand) Say your using the song.. Shit can't think of an extremly overused song as a good example... Aww I know "Last Resort" By papa Roach. In the song is the lyric "Cut my life into pieces, This is my last resort" Here you could show (once again sry for the general refrence, but so it's easy to understand) Say..(since you obviously know naruto) show Naruto possibly sitting on the swing sad and show some parts where he looks sad or whatever, then show him like exploding with the power of the kyuubi or whatever it's called. ...this leads me to my next point

3. Beat Synch - Just as Lyric synch works for emotional vids, beat synch is a must for Action vids. Beat synch is at about the same priority as Lyric synch on my list. And it can go with lyric synch to make a beautiful combination. As previously stated show naruto all sad then exploding with the power of kyuubi can't just be put there. it has to be appropriate. When the song is goin sorta slower don't show Massive fighting or powerful explosions, show slower or calmer things, then switch to a mroe powerful scene when necisarry.

4. FX(effects) - FX are decently important but not NEARLY as important as the 3 affermentioned topics. I've seen MANY a good vid without a single effect used. Effects are anything that you add to the clips. In WMM, it's things like threshold, cycle through color cycle, Sepia tone, and so on. In vegas it's anything under the FX tab XD. idk about premiere or other programs never used them. But anyway, Effects Can be hard to master cause they can either Make something look beautiful, Or turn it to complete shit in an instant. Many People will want the higher editing systems like vegas or premiere because they want mroe effects, these are the people who use 80 FX/Second and create crappy vids. I've seen very masterful use of effects as well. I've said before, If it seems liek what's happening in the vid is causing the music instead of the other way around, your doing great XD, or if it just seems to fit perfectly.

5. Lip Synch - Lip Synch doesn't really have a very big importance at all, It's mainly just to make your vid look more professional or to have some filler where it just seems right XD. It can also help very much with the flow or feeling of a vid. But if your going to lip synch you need to know a few thing
A) Don't use subs, You don't want the song saying "DIE MOTHERFUCKER DIE" (XD) and have the subs on the bottom say "would you like some tea?"
B) If your gonna do it, Do it well. Nothing quite throws me off as much as a REALLY bad lip synching. Where the mouth keeps going way more then it needs to. Just kind of annoying.

Well, WHEW... I Hope this helps at least a little XD...Hope I didn't leave anything out.

Asking out of curiousity, what video would that be? o_o" I haven't seen a decent WMM video.. probably because I can't find one, but the ones uploaded on media streams arent that good.

I don't know that video, but if you want somewhat of a decent WMM AMV (not to self pimp) but False Identity is one of my highest star average videos. Beating out what i think is my best video. :?

I'll look to see if I can find some others for ya.

Can't agree with this more. I was previewing another editor's AMV a while ago, and his whole editing process revolved around what effects he was going to use. The result was a kinda cool-looking video that had absolutely no point and I got bored with halfway through. Effects should enhance your theme/concept, not be the focal point. Eye candy just can't hold its own against a good story, especially on the second or third viewing.
