In my mind, if someone else proved to be able to get a high-quality AMV out of WMM, theirs would get in too. But if WMM can make high-quality clips, then I'll let people use it.
How about if people know how to get a good high-quality clip out of it, they can use it. But I'll know if they did it right or not ;)
it goes to the old one but Read ErMaC & AbsoluteDestiny's Friendly AMV Guides... it will tell you how to export from wmm2 to get better quality...

and yes there are other programs you can use to enhance the quality of your videos (such as avisynth) however most "good" editors know how to use them

Any program can put out poor quality videos, you need to know how to export properly from any program to get better quality.

Thanks for the link. I've put it on the site to help newbies at making clips. Now I just need people to join and submit some clips...

AVI as Lossless, yes. XviD doesnt work out, DivX fucks up and gets orphan frames.
MP4 (h.264/x264) is a Format that Vegas isnt capable of even importing

I'm using Vegas Pro 8, which does work with mp4 files, so I think I'm OK there. ;)

If XviD and DivX don't work out right, I may not worry about that for now.

you might be able to accept several different kinds of files, but when you do get them you should convert them all to lossless before importing them to vegas

Yeah, I'm planning on converting them to avi first, to preserve the quality.

Small update for the guidelines:

I"m taking out the rule that the clip must be uncompressed. It takes up too much space, so compression and XviD are allowed.

On another note, we still need some more submissions. So far we only have 9 submissions. Please join AMV Explosion and submit your clips. We are not accepting clips that were in another MEP, but you may submit rejected clips from another MEP.

F-A-I-L

Enough said. Ok let´s get clear: If you compress something that is already compressed you get less and less quality. So if people come along with 2000kbps XviD that are already made of fansubs than your project will look like shit or has more MB than you can count to.

There are one-click-hosters like megaupload who help you to store and send big files.
You can find me on YT under "Bauzi514". Subscribe to never miss my AMV releases. :amv:

I don't have much choice. I don't have enough hard drive space for everyone to send in uncompressed files. If the size was smaller, i would accept uncompressed clips, but filesize is too big.
