- Offsite links are allowed, but you are required to have a catalog entry for that video as well. Threads announcing videos that do not contain a catalog entry will be moved to the Awaiting Catalog Entry sub-forum and will be deleted in 2 weeks if an entry is not created.

Haha, I do agree @ the fx at :30 secs.Funky-kun wrote:The IC video was nice, song. Oh, FX @ 0:30 fail hard. Other than that - great.
The other video was very, very good. I LOVED the lyric sync, and everything else about the video was solid. Great use of effects. Awesome credits.

Being a beta-tester for this I kind of feel obligated to write up a full review for it, so here it goes:
First off I really feel that you don't need a "full description". Your work should speak for you (and in this case, it actually DOES) and I felt this explanation was a bit unnecessary. It takes a lot of the enjoyment out of a video when someone goes "Okay this, this and this happened" when a lot of people watch videos over and over to discover these things for themselves. When you do that it can sometimes eliminate the fun of a video, as well as cut back on overall views. For example while I would normally watch a video 20 times or so if the message wasn't clear (and I knew there actually WAS one) I only watched this finished version twice before I felt confident enough to write a review about it...so I don't know, that killed some of the fun for me.
Show don't tell.
Honestly this is the best editing I've seen from you since Karas Are Coming 2 and it's very nice to see your skill level with After Effects increasing. The ending text part (not the credits) seems professionally done and has a very nice feel to it with the moving text after the first song actually finishes this. And instead of taking the time to complain about the credits, I was too busy going "neat" over that part the first time through. I thought it was very very well done.
Now on to your credits text...after seeing that segment before it, I was actually a bit excited to see your credits, but it really feels like you phoned it in on those. They just don't really seem as active as the text before it, the camera motion you used felt very static and boring (again, in comparison to the part before it) and I didn't even get to read everything the first time, because your other text wasn't really toned down enough for me to read the credits clearly the first time. I also know another video is using similar credits so the originality on that one felt rather lack luster.
Despite these complaints, I only actually have ONE about the actual video. Now, I know you're good at editing because honestly I thought it was good in this. But you switch between two different ways of kind of showing his past...you pick an old school film grain sometimes, and other times you pick a more digital noise effect. This of course makes no sense because the "old school film effect" is associated with older movies, and the new school static noise or whatever you want to call it is a more recent equivalent. But having both of these in the same video is a little bit questionable, and combining the two at times like you did just made me smile. At any given moment I couldn't tell if I was Robo Cop or just watching an old silent movie...or perhaps I was supposed to be Robo Cop watching an old silent movie, I don't know. This particular combination of effects in a single video makes me question how much common sense you sacrificed for the sake of sync and something that looks cool.
The storyline in your video is very clear, I like how you interpret songs lyrically and rhythmically, I think your editing was spot on in those departments. Your sync falters momentarily during 2:07-2:15 but it seems like you quickly got your footing back in the next few scenes. I also love the text moving around him and on the cliff. People should watch this video just to see that, I thought it was very well done.
Question: Why does this video have letterboxing? Couldn't you have cropped it off? I know your last segment is full screen but you could have always just edited that in widescreen like the rest of your video. Not that I minded it horribly, I just felt like pointing that out.

(Highest score I've given in about a month, nice to see some competence)

I haven't played GoW so I can't really tell what is and isn't source footage and what is added. Keeping that in mind...
Really nice use of effects for this vid. They were very clean and didn't overpower the vid. The editing itself was pretty solid though there were a few parts that I was slightly like....meh...at. All-in-all this is most definitly one of the best FMVs that I have seen in a while.
Credits were awesome btw. I really thought it captured the celldweller mood perfectly.
And like Flusel said: no IVTC and i love me some IVTC with my media.
4.5/5 from me
